This soundbar KICKS for the value. Sounds best elevated off a table to avoid wave reflection... Hooked up great to my 49" Samsung 8-Series, via Optical Audio; Samsung smart remote was able to pair with Klipsch without having to manually program it into the soundbar itself, which is nice...

My main complaint is that I believe I received a defective subwoofer. When my TV is off, I can hear an alternating faint hissing or a low-frequency buzzing in the sub... even when it is idling. I returned it, and will update this review if it is resolved.

If it is due to poor quality and not a defect, I will return for good.

UPDATE:
I have reduced it to a 2-star. My replacement arrived and had the same humming/white noise issue with the subwoofer.

The Cinema 400 Soundbar arrived on time and looked "hopeful." After carefully unpacking the parts and reading instructions I tackled the install, including mounting on the wall. After a long and fairly difficult process, turns out the wrong wall mounts were included, making it impossible to hang the bar on a wall. The image shows the difference. It looks minor but it's impossible to even jury-rig it. Long story short (by a bit...) Klipsch customer service informed me the mounts were on back order and I would have to wait two months at least.
As far as the technical installation, full disclosure, I've lost my inner-geek enthusiasm and no longer have interest in figuring out technical issues. This soundbar requires a lot of adjustments and adaptations to your TV settings in order to utilize the full array of features. Fair warning...
I'm returning this for a less complex - and better packed - system.

There is an option to turn off the bright LED lights, but you have to do it every time. Same with turning off the power - it will come on when you turn on the TV, but you have to separately turn off the speakers. There is also a delay after you turn off your TV, so I find myself standing around waiting for the speakers to process that the TV is off before being able to turn off the speakers. When you first turn on the TV/speakers there is a loud pop. Sound cuts out briefly and periodically but I’m not sure if that’s the speakers or TV honestly. I put up with all of these annoyances because it sounded great, but less than a year later and it just stopped working. Bought these because Klipsch usually makes quality products, but I definitely regret this purchase!

We received the the first unit in early December. First impressions were good. Sound quality was great and the sound options were nice. But when we sat down to watch a show, the unit would randomly turn off. Sometimes it would be 3-4 times in a single 30 minute show, and other times it wouldn't turn off at all.

I thought it might be a bad (old) optic cable, so I bought a new one, but the problem persisted. I liked the quality of the sound, so I opted to return it for the same model hoping that I just got a bad unit.

Well the new one came and it doesn't randomly turn off, but it will randomly not turn on. To get it to come on, you have to completely unplug it and plug it back in, sometimes having to do this several times before it will decide to turn back on.

Returning this unit as well, and continuing my search for a quality sound bar with wireless subwoofer.

We ended up returning this due to how difficult it was to get clear dialogue even when you had the dialogue mode on. It required constant turning volume up to hear dialogue and then down when there was any action due to the surround sound being loud. The 8” subwoofer was a nice addition and did its job. I really wanted to like this since I’ve had good luck with Klipsch speakers in general. I’ll stick to separate center, front, and surround speakers.

This sound bar had so much promise. Hooked it up. Was thrilled until we attempted to sync with cable remote and since then, the problems persisted even with attempted factory reset. I emailed customer support in December and received a response (other than we’re real busy) in February.
Today, I hooked it up to use for music via Bluetooth and same issues. Volume up/down turns off unit. Can’t get out of dialog mode or adjust volume of subwoofer. So disappointed!

Let me start by saying I LOVE Klipsch. I'm a total Klipsch fan boy. I own an absurd amount of Klipsch products. Unfortunately, this product is junk. The sound quality is not up to par with anything else that has the Klipsch name on it. It's a meh, at best. My biggest complaint about this unit, aside from the underwhelming sound quality, is the remote and sound setting memory. The remote does not work half the time. I find myself having to move my arm around in all different directions/heights, like an old set of tv rabbit ears, just to get the sound bar to pickup the signal (and yes, the remote batteries are good). Second, when you turn the unit on, more often than not, it will start with the volume way up, the bass maxed out, and the dialogue enhancer turned off, despite having the volume and bass turned way down and the dialogue enhancer turned on 100% of the time, prior to turning the unit off. Once you begin to push the bass reduction button, the unit will magically remember the previous settings and revert back. This is only a minor inconvenience, unless of course you're trying not to wake up your sleeping kids or spouse... Cause a house full of sleeping people love surprise midnight rock concerts! My last complaint is the mediocre bass. Sometimes it puts out decent bass depending on the movie, but the problem is you can't really turn the bass up to it's max potential, because there's a ton of rumble and white noise to deal with. I was worried about this since the sub is a wireless connection. I've never had any luck with wireless subs. They can be 3-5' away with a perfect line of sight, and they'll still have issues with intermittent connections or poor sound input signals. I had this in my master bedroom, but I've since disconnected it. I had considered setting this up in my office to listen to music while I work, but I'm probably just gonna give it to my mother-in-law, and hope it gives her as much grief as she gives me...

I've been using this sound bar for about 2 weeks with a new Vizio M series TV. I like the sound quality and, for the money, I am pleased. The sub woofer is really good and the entire system fills our game room nicely. Now for the problems, and my 2 star rating....
I have three problems when using with a Vizio TV:
1) The Klipsch remote control also activates various functions on the Vizio TV, rendering the Kipsch remote useless (i.e. volume up on the Klipsch remote also sends the TV to Netflix). This shouldn't be a problem is you're connected via HDMI/arc and only using the Vizio remote. If you are connecting through something else like optical, the Klipsch remote just isn't practical.
2) When connected via HDMI/arc, I get a popping noise (through the speakers) when ever I power down the TV or mute the sound (using the Vizio remote)
3) On three separate occasions, the HDMI/arc connection between the sound bar and TV just stops. No sound. Nothing. Optical still works, but problem #1 makes using optical impractical. By performing a factory reset on the sound bar the problem corrects itself 100% of the time (no changes to the TV settings) which makes me believe this is a sound bar problem.
I've written to Klipsch asking for help an so far no reply. I'm hoping they get back to me soon. If they do, and provide a reasonable solution, I'll update my review and rating here

I am an audio engineer with multiple professional speaker systems, but I wanted a simple sound bar for my living room. I’ve listened to a handful of affordable sound bars and been mostly satisfied with them as a simple upgrade from TV speakers. I ordered the klipsch without a demo because I trust their products a bit more than other manufacturers. This unit falls short in a few aspects. The low mids are pretty non existent, and the speaker sounds very thin. There is no crossover adjustment that I am aware of to raise the cutoff frequency for the subwoofer. The highs are a little harsh and not smooth. The subwoofer has a range of loudness, and even at its quietest setting, it is still almost too loud in reference to the sound bar. It does not handle dynamics very well, having it loud enough to hear dialogue well will result in loud uncomfortable midrange when an action scene takes place. Overall it is OKAY as an upgrade from TV speakers, but I will probably be putting an EQ in front of it to tune it a bit better.

Thoroughly disappointed at this unit, if I could return it I would:
Title says it all, there's suddenly this popping noise when there is the slightest base sounds, if I reset the speakers it sometimes goes away, if I cycle though the settings (clear voice, night, SRS) it'll go away... it's just annoying as heck, a downgrade to the actual TV speakers, I hate my experience with these speakers so far!
