I have a wide range of Klipsch products that I use for my regular surround sound setup, so when I got it, I was expecting the same quality that you'd expect from the Klipsch brand. Unfortunately this isn't one of those products. Upon first receiving the product and hooking it up, I noticed a rattle coming from the Subwoofer whenever the bass hit. So i removed the back panel and inside was a piece of wood that was glued on and came off and was just rattling around. Once I removed the piece of free floating wood, placed it back together the Wireless Sub worked as expected. Several days later, i'm now getting this weird distortion noise coming from the subwoofer. Easiest way to make it go away is to mute the soundbar and unmute it, the distortion immediately goes away, but eventually comes back.

Unfortunately I already through the box away so I'm stuck with it. Needless to say QA isn't up to snuff and I'd skip this set at all cost.

I have been a long time PRIME member and I seldom write reviews...only when a product exceeds my expectations or when a product fails poorly. This product falls into the to fails category. The sub-woofer and the main sound bar would not pair (communicate). After attempts with Amazon tech support, it was clear that this was a defective unit. I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for a family member December 19, 2020 and received it December 22, 2020....good job Amazon shipping for getting it here a day early. The fast shipping is the only star I would give this item. Customer support informed me that this item is on back-order till the end of January. So, the quality of this item and the lack of availability earn this product 1 star. Please do not buy this Klipsch Cinema 400 Sound Bar + 8Inch Wireless Subwoofer with HDMIARC, it is more of a headache than it is worth.

I never write reviews, but I felt like I needed to based on my experience with this soundbar. I was very excited to try it as I was upgrading from a Polk Signa S2. First of all, when everything works, the Klipsch soundbar sounded only marginally better. Sure, it was louder and the subwoofer put out more bass, but the midranges were ok.

However, as others have noted, the subwoofer often puts has distortion. This goes away if you unplug the subwoofer and repair, but very annoying. Luckily, mine paired well as that is another problem people have with this.

the most annoying issue I had is that this soundbar would turn on by itself after about 15 minutes and stay on until I noticed. Apparently, this is another common problem as it is addressed on Klipsch's support website. The answer? Contact your TV provider for a firmware update. Now I think I'm a pretty nice guy and deserving of help, but it is hard for me to believe that a TV provider will issue a firmware change based on my complaint with this particular soundbar.

Another annoying thing is the lights for power and volume are on the front of the soundbar. Am I the only one that is driven crazy by this? There is a button on the remote to turn this off, but it resets after the soundbar is powered off. I use my TV remote to control and needed the Klipsch remote just to turn off this stupid light. Black electrical tape did help.

Perhaps I lost the soundbar lottery with my particular unit, but all in all, I would not recommend this.

My initial experience was positive. The sound quality is good, although nothing Earth shattering. For watching movies it is a good soundbar, when it works. (more of it in a minute). For music in your party or something like that, not so much. But I didn't get it to listen to music in high volume, so it wasn't a big deal to me. It has couple basic controls, like control of subwoofer and clear voice and surround sound effect, which is appropriated, but not so much of control (except of the amount of bass). But it definitely could use more control or a better remote.

However, the biggest problem, which is a huge one and a deal breaker. The sound from the main speaker cuts off every few minutes for a few seconds. It happens no matter what input is being used and what volume or mode you're at. You still hear the deep sound of subwoofer but the main sound from the main bar shuts off for a few seconds. Extremely annoying and makes absolutely no sense. I've tried to contact the customer service, but have not been able to talk to anyone. Later I learned it's a common issue. They should pull all these speakers off the shelves. It completely ruins the experience if it happens even once and it happens multiple times during watching a movie.

Very disappointed and unacceptable

Within 30 min of use after getting everything plugged in and connected. It shorted out/died on me. Now it REFUSES to turn on. It was plugged into a power strip that also has my tv and a lamp connected to it. Neither of which faultered or had anything happen to them when the sound bar shorted it out.

Very disappointed as I have been looking forward to this sound bar for a long time now.

The sound quality is great! Easy to install, bass is bumping.

BUT... a big BUT...

The soundbar automatically turns off. I was aware that it does that when there's no sound coming through for a certain period of time, but when I'm playing my music or watching my movie on my computer. WTF?? This has happened several times already, and it started after the 30 day return window. ALSO, it makes these loud click noises when it turns off and on, really annoying!! I guess I can reach out to Klipsch, but this is such a hassle.

I’m disappointed I have to return this Klipsch sound bar.

I’m a fan of Klipsch and have been for years. This sound bars quality seamed excellent. Fantastic subwoofer and amazing design with having sub volume controls on the remote.

One star reasoning.
When listening to music Bluetooth from my phone and other Bluetooth devices, the sound bar will randomly change source input leaving you wondering why your music stop playing.

The volume will spontaneously change.

Additionally it sounded like the subwoofer was not catching every tone. The more the subwoofer gets used, the more often it stops working. Assuming it’s a loose wire.

I’m assuming I just have a lemon and a replacement would probably work out good but after reading some other reviews saying they started having issues similar to mine six months down the road, I’m concerned a replacement is going to have the same issues and I’ll be out of my return window.

It’s unfortunate because the sound and looks are phenomenal.

It’s an absolute waste of money. Don’t be fooled by the Klipsch name. This audio system has no functions of others in this price range. You’re not buying the product that you would expect from Klipsch. No sounds quality changes for the different types of music your listening too. The speaker quality is horrible. The vocal range of speakers is awful. We purchased this system to go in our formal sitting room. In our main living room we have a Polk Audio sound bar that far better in every way, it was even less in price (we purchased from Nebraska Furniture Mart on sale).

Either go up in price for a Klipsch product, to get a good product or move to a different brand.

Don’t buy this unless you want to be disappointed!

Well unfortunately I have the same review as Captain Jae, so I'll just copy and paste his issue, mine is the same. If anyone knows how to remedy this I would appreciate it. Sound quality is decent except for this.
