2,0 de 5 estrelas Not enjoyable

I don't understand what the creators of this game were thinking. It's a wolfenstein game, so its alot of fun to play and kill nazis. But even when playing offline solo, you are completely unable to pause this game at any point. You can open up the menu, but things still happen while you're sitting there. Including getting attacked and losing all your lives. Just to reiterate, THERE IS NO PAUSING THIS GAME. What were they thinking? The other stupid thing, there is no manual saving. You cant save the game. It saves on it's own. Not a huge deal breaker there, but since theres no pausing the game, it becomes a problem. Also dont lose your three lives. You'll regret it. I stopped playing half way through this game, because I made it all the way to the end of the brother 1 level, lost my 3 lives fighting the big nazi robot and they sent me all the way back to the beginning of the level coming out of the underground. Unbelievable. If they fixed these things, I think it would be a pretty good game, but until then, I wouldn't bother.

Personally I think that the game is a ton of fun. I know that reviews are critical of the game being "not Wolfenstein" due to playing BJ's daughters rather than him, and that the females are obnoxious and cringe worthy but I found that they were enjoyable as long as I considered that they are supposed to be teenagers. That would also explain their dialog which is very 1980's (the time frame of the game).
The gameplay itself is smooth and glitch free for me, and the enemy AI is good as well (shooting at me from windows etc). The music and sound effects are top notch. While Bethesda did add micro transactions (which is a shame) by no means are these necessary to complete or compete in the game.
Furthermore, the Buddy Pass is cool as it allows you to play with a friend without them needing a copy and can be used repeatedly. Only bummer is that you need a subscription to Xbox or PS4 networks to play online.
I'm happy with my purchase (Xbox Deluxe Edition Wolfenstein Youngblood).

1,0 de 5 estrelas The worst addition to an overall excellent franchise

I tried to like it. I did. But the game is so frustratingly weak in both story and how it plays that I dropped playing it within 2 hours. First- characters. My god they chose the most annoying way of highlighting female playable characters into the game with cringe worthy cliches and terrible phrasing. It made me want to punch them in the face.
Two- Enemies respawn RIGHT after killing them. Seriously within minutes of killing a bunch of enemy if you step outside that zone and turn around they spawned right back in. Seriously?
Three- Checkpoints- They are fixing these but I grew so frustrated with the play style and bullet sponge enemies that I died and started right back at the beginning of a level 20 minutes prior to where I was.

Terrible game. Wolfenstein New Order and the New Collosus were absolutely outstanding/fun games. Young Blood wasn't even this bad. Bethesda really screwed up and for that....pass.

2,0 de 5 estrelas A serious critique on a big fan of the series, beware of spoilers for previous games

Story: I have yet to complete this game yet so take this at what you will. Honestly, i wasn't a big fan of this one. I've played not only the originals but all three of the newer ones. I mean the remakes like the new collousus, new order, as well as old blood. I enjoyed all of them. But this new one, it just doesn't feel right. I don't know if it's just because Blazco is not the main character for this one or what but it just feels wrong. The twins don't feel real in a way, like usual banter between siblings is a lot like some emotional support, and a lot of bickering on the side. Sure people are not all like this but the sisters literally give more emotional support throughout the game than an AA meeting, it's almost ridiculous. Also each game set you up by giving a kind of background to help you understand the situation. In the new order you were introduced to Fergus and Wyatt, you got character background and development right off the bat, then BAM look at this now you have to choose between the two of them, and your choice matters throughout the game, changing a lot, and getting you ready for the action, it swiftly and smoothly introduces you to the plot as well as introduces you to the main villain, two birds with one stone. The new collosus introduced the main enemy, gave you a reason to hate them, and then settled you into a unique and awesome story, ending with an awesome ending, which I had hoped would continue with (spoilers) them leading the revolution in america to take it back from Nazis. Now here's youngblood, we are introduced to the twins right off the bat, after the revolution is over (at least i think it is, might have to double check) suddenly America is free, the twins are grilled by each family member on survival skills and marksmanship. 5 mins later, blazco is missing, the girls steal a helicopter, suddenly get armor that was used by blazco in the previous title, they kill a Nazi, then BAM you're in. No Story, no what's going on, nothing, not even a hint of their father leaving or talking, he's just suddenly gone. The main character is replaced with his two daughters, both happy and bubbly but a whole lot different from the serious and silent but deadly tone the previous character had.

Combat: the previous games made you feel awesome as well as a word that I'd rather not say. It was intense, raw, and unchained, like a guy who truly hates his enemy and wants nothing more than to be rid of them. The combat system in this one's kind of a joke. Sure it kept what the others had in allowing multiple weapons, and being allowed to dual wield (granted you have to earn points to unlock the skill). However they introduced a new system, certain guns work better on certain enemy's. A lot of the enemy's now have armor that can only be damaged by a specific bullet/weapon, however i still have yet to understand how this system works, I've used all guns i presently had on one enemy yet his damage did not change at all.

Progression: the previous titles did something that i loved, they gave you a challenge to complete and upon completion you get a permanent bonus, it was awesome and a lot of fun to try to get these bonuses. The second doing it as well. However the new blood make an rpg like system that focuses on levels. So you unlock perks through just shooting things and hoping you level up and get a point. Also every enemy now has a level as well. Adding difficulty to a mere grunt is just stupid.
Pros: they introduced a new system, at the beginning of the game you can choose between two abilities, you can go invisible, or you can do a huge dash that cripple enemies, and unlock certain unreachable areas. You can unlock the other ability pretty easy so no need to Fret. There is a third ability which I had to look up. It seems like a pretty cool ability that allows you to blow open doors and blast enemies to bits, but you can only get that in the last mission which kinda sucks but your stuff saves for round 2. This third ability allows you to unlock and get access to endgame content for the game, adding more content to play.

Extra stuff you should know: they added cosmetic microtransactions
This game is heavily co-op based, play it with a friend, it was meant to be and the single player experience kinda sucked.
You cannot pause the game, even if you are offline and playing single player, much like dark souls, the menu is there, but the action still happens.

2,0 de 5 estrelas Disappointing.

In anticipation of this games release - I went back and played the three previous Wolfenstein games - each one with incredible story line, character development (voice acting/scenes) and solid game play.
This game didn't have any of those qualities - strangely disjointed story line, awful changes to the game mechanics to include RPG like features, shared lives idea, painful repetitive game play, poor AI. The dialogue between the two female protagonists is lousy adolescent banter, the enemies are boring and are not as dynamic as previous Wolfenstein iterations.
Not sure how this game got past QA - perhaps in a rush to get some of that MMO loot or sell additional DLC?
Truly disappointing - I would not recommend this game.

I really really tried to enjoy this game. But along with Fallout 76, Bethesda is 0 for 2 on their last 2.
I wasn't a super big fan from the start, but wanted to play through just for an honest opinion.
Rushed my way to the final boss, which became immediately clear I wasn't nearly high enough a level to take on.
However, this game is repeat mission oriented, meaning you can go back and 'grind' out the levels to get higher. There was no way to return after heading into the final fight. No warning that would be the case. The only option now is to start over from the beginning, and it's not nearly good enough for that.

2,0 de 5 estrelas Solo is not true solo!

The game boast multiplayer and solo. However, to play solo, you have to "host" a game match. When I did that, some strange dude invaded my game and went in another direction than where I was going and I ended up dying all the time. So, I setup to host as a private match and the same thing happened. So, I again "hosted" a match and set it to invite with me thinking that it would allow me to play solo until my invited person came online, Uh, no, that did not happen.
