Does not work with Nintendo switch Fortnite chat , despite it saying it does on the description and box. Turtle beach have updated their own website to advise which headsets are working, this is not on the list.update a few months along , the unit now fails to work at all , utter garbage.
I have used Turtle beach headphones for a long time and they are very good sound and mic quality. However my dog chewed through my other one so I decided to buy this as a replacement. However, even though this set was a similar price range. The quality is nowhere near my previous ones. Maybe the company have just decided to cut costs now they are a developed brand or I just got unlucky and overpaid for their lower range of headphones.
Only lasted a month. Sound degraded to the point it was sounding like the speakers had blown.
These were returned and replaced with a more expensive pair of Turtle Beach Atlas One headphones believing they would be better quality, but they also failed within 6 months, this time being the microphone that failed.
My daughter also had a pair of Turtle Beach Recon Spark which failed within the same time frame but on her headset the sound keeps cutting out as does the sound from her mic which keeps crackling and breaking up according to her friends.
Really poor. They obviously use cheap materials and charge a premium for them. I'll never buy Turtle Beach again and certainly do not recommend them.
Does everything you want from a gaming headset. The mic is clear and well positioned (the lift-up-to-mute functionality is a nice touch), ideal for screaming about the spawn-camper that's killed you a dozen times in a row.
The headphones themselves are a little tighter than I generally like, but I hav quite a large head, so that's more on me. Sound quality is good, and they block a fair amount of external noise too, reallyletting you hear what those teenagers online are saying about your parentage and skills at the current game.
I was a little skeptical as view differ about compatibility with Nintendo Switch and Fortnite. I checked the manufacturer website and helpful guide and went ahead and purchase and there was no problem what so ever. My son was straight back on the game giving orders. It will work with Nintendo Switch and Fortnite and you just need to read the guidance on settings if you have difficulties. Product quality looks fine but time will tell.
The Turtle Beach Recon 70N is very uncomfortable if it is being used for more than 30 minutes. This is a fairly small headset, and while I myself have a small head, the ear cushions provide little to no support. After a bit of use, my ears start hurting and after prolongued use they become really sore.
I found that the headset also slips off quite easily.
Sound quality is adequate for both audio output and mic input.
I found that a cheaper non branded headset provides more comfort and audio experience than the Turtle Beach Recon 70N.
If a headset becomse so sore to the point you can't use it anymore, then it isn't really fit for purpose.
I ordered this product already being familiar with the brand of TurtleBeach. I've been a customer for close to 6 years and have gone through 3 Recons over that time period that have all served me greatly in sound, durability and mic quality. So my expectations were high when i saw a new model. However while the product meets my expectations in terms of sounds and durability (so far), the mic quality is reportedly worse than its predecessor. The wide census from friends and strangers was "are you using earphones or something your mic is ****". This has quite obviously irritated me and has left me disappointed hence the 3 star review. In summary don't let the "unique features" off a flippable mic sway you into purchasing this headset. I'd recommend sticking to the older models manufactured by turtle beach or other competitors.
Sound and quality of the headphones are excellent, but and there is a big "but" ... after a while, the arc of the headphone over the head starts to bother a lot, the sponge protection is very thin and bothers a thin protrusion under the sponge. The protection sponge should be like that of the "Turtle Beach Stealth 300". I want to change them for the "Turtle Beach Stealth 300".
Turned up with only one side working. The wire wasn't soldered on. I've heard these can suffer with poor build quality. However rather than return it and cause more plastic waste, I fixed it in 10 mins with a soldering iron. I guess if you want better quality, don't buy cheap headphones. Still now they are working I use them a lot for gaming and the work well. Had some issues with the mic mute, turns out I wasn't folding it away completely (which mutes it), I think an inline mute would be better. Overall 7-8/10 they are a bit plasticy but great for entry level
