Very cool color scheme and look. The controller itself is a very low quality product. Upon opening it’s obviously very low quality. Cheap plastic and bad button feed back. If your looking for a pro controller or just one with quality go ahead and spend the extra money on the original. With this type of plastic it makes your hands very sweaty and with no traction makes it much harder to play with. I do not recommend for $20 sure but at this price point definitely not.
I've had this controller for just over 6 months at this point and the left analog stick is having an issue with drift. It does depend on what game you play for it to be noticeable but it certainly is. I also found that in said circumstances I would have issue with full tilting, normally I don't need to consciously think about press the analog stick entirely in one direction to move at my characters maximum speed but a few games I needed to press the stick in slightly to get the full tilt. At time of writing I just stumbled upon a new issue, that the analog stick wouldn't recognize one specific direction (slightly left of directly up). I don't think I was overly rough with the controller and the right analog stick works perfectly fine. So overall it's a functional controller but I wouldn't expect it to last too long.
I thought maybe I would try a third party Pro Controller, but this one is a big disappointment. First of all...AA batteries? Seriously?? This is 2020, and built-in rechargeable batteries are the norm in most devices these days. Second, there seems to be no rumble feature. Finally, it just feels cheap--it does not have the superior tactile response that a genuine Nintendo Pro Controller has.
Spend the extra. Get the genuine Nintendo. This one's going straight in the trash.
Was very happy with the controller initially - I'm a casual player (few hours a week) and liked the price and that it uses standard AA batteries.
The controller worked well for about 3-4 months before it started getting some control stalk drift - this was great in Assassins Creed when you're trying to hide, and the character suddenly pops out of hiding! Eventually, the drift got worse where it characters could barely move forward. I followed the manufacturers basic instructions for fixing this (made sure my firmware was up to date, and re-synced the controller) with no success. Finally contacted manufacturer and they acknowledged this is a known issue after Nintendo's latest update, and that they were working on a fix. That was a month ago.
I still use the controller occasionally as I hate holding the regular switch controllers, and the drift is tolerable for short periods (the longer you use the controller, the worse it gets). But combined with buttons that are constantly sticking, I've decided this thing is trash. 2 stars for the 3 months of use I got out of it.
I bought this controller in December as a Christmas gift and one of the buttons stopped working in March.... so roughly 3 months of use for the price of the controller isn't ok. And no, my husband isn't a big gamer because of a lack of time. This thing was lightly used at best and the button still quit. Google tells me it's a fairly common issue.
Nice design though, great for a collector. Just not someone who actually plans on using it.
