Being that I put over 100 hours into the game, I must have liked something about it before I got burned out in Arx. Incredibly unforgiving, infinitely detailed, directionless, and at times unfair. I required a ton of re-loads that can take upwards of 5-7 minutes each time. Gives you time to reevaluate your ineffective strategy.
Without following some sort of walk-though, I would have missed a copious amount of content and been woefully underleveled.
If you're looking for a challenging turn based RPG that doesn't hold your hand, you've found it.
This game is very very very good. But it's really old school in how you progress. Doing the simplest of tasks could take you hours. Leveling up once takes an eternity, but the thing is you won't care. The game is that engrossing. You will turn this game on in the morning & suddenly, it's midnight. I've never had a game enthrall me as much as this one to where I just forget about everything else. But that's why I'm docking it one star, because it's almost impossible for me to put down. I have a life, you know... But this game sucks you in and you just wanna keep playing, for eternity...
I enjoyed this game at first, but once I progressed further in the story the quests became more complicated and I got bored trying to figure out what to do. I wish the camera controls were more intuitive as well.
