I hate this headset every time I wear it I have to check if it has charge to start with is it doesn’t I have to be sat next to the wall charging because if it’s plugged into my Xbox it makes a terrible buzz for me and my friends also the wire for the charging is tiny. My ears start to kill after 20 minutes of wearing the thing its not comfortable and the multiple wires on the left cause my ear to be dragged down making it more annoying and uncomfortable to play with
Well I love my old turtle beach head set that I let my son have as his broke, so thought id buy another from the brand as the others I have a floor less from the brand, These sound great apart from the fact when u want to turn the mic volume down it does not work you have to turn off the game volume aswell so these do not work as intended so sending back for a refund
I've never had a headset that doesn't work at all unless charged. Traditionally all headsets work taking power from the jack, but had 'additional' typically USB supply for extra features and lights. But the Turtle Beach Recon 200 won't work at all without a full charge, so if it runs out of battery whilst playing, good luck, no audio and no hope of audio without a recharge. Then there is the issue of battery life, even after a full charge, we couldn't get a long session in without the audio cutting out and the headset needing another recharge. So gutted with this product, I've switch to a better headset that doesn't need charge. Very rare for me not to recommend a purchase, but even if you want a headset that doesn't drain power from your devices, I'd instead go for a model that has a better battery life, or even better, a compartment for rechargable batteries to be swapped out quickly, so you can keep playing and don't lose matches.
Where to start. I've been a PC and xbox gamer for 20 years. I've had numerous headsets so can give a balanced opinion. I never pay more than £50 for headset due to having kids and a life. The sound on these is on par with other headsets in the price and they sound ok
Main issues = no noise cancelling at all! We measured 7 metres between me and my partner and when I talk I then hear myself coming through her microphone and via versa (we brought 2 of these headsets)
Headset size! I do not have a big head, and its shaved... Yet it feels like my head is in a clamp. 3 weeks of everyday use has not changed this. Also its sooo tight! My ears are sore! The ear cup is so small that it hurts your ears as its clamped on... It literally makes it sound like my fingers are in my ears when I talk!
Lesson learnt here didn't realise I have to charge them which Is painful when u go to play n realise u didn't switch them off the day before n can't used then cause they need to be charged to work, plus I'm not to sure how to use them when it says you can buy the audio adapter for extra £25 and that makes it sound like your in a tunnel when taking .also they pick up every little bit of sound around you while playing, beating the control buttons noise goes to the headset.
I have never had a pair of wired headphones which need charging before. You'd think that the battery life would be reasonable, but it only lasts for a couple of hours after a full night's charge.
The mic is poor quality, but that is to be expected at this price. The cable to connect to your device, however, is unbelievably short. I have to crane my neck when I plug them into my desktop speaker next to the monitor. This makes for incredibly tedious and uncomfortable gaming.
Speaking of comfort, these headphones are incredibly tight on the head, and the earpads are too small. The controls on the headphones are small and fiddly.
If you're looking for a better quality headset for the same price I suggest the Astro A10s, I had them before this and the quality was crisp clear as well as a better microphone and did not need to be charged for no apparent reason like this useless product. I assumed that when I bought the wired version of this headset there would be no need for it to be charged constantly as I have never encountered a headset which is wired but requires charging. Unfortunately not only does this need to be charged constantly but the battery life only lasts about 4-5 hours after charging for the same amount of time. The quality of sound is the worst I've encountered on a console headset and the constant buzzing noise does not help you immerse in any game or video but distracts you instead. I have never had a problem with Turtle Beach in the past but this is without a doubt the worst headset they've produced and the worst I have ever used. Apparently no refunds are allowed either so if you did decide to buy this garbage and you had a problem even worse than mine then tough luck. I would use profanity to describe this if I could.
Dont even bother to waste your money. Firstly I didnt even know I had to charge it separately, even though its wired!!! The battery life is terrible. My friends could hardly hear me, but others said I was too loud. Tried to return and refund them and it wont let me!!! I go to speak to someone and apparently no one is available. £40 is a lot to lose regardless.
I've had many headsets and never had a wired headset need charging. It doesn't have a good battery life and I'm wondering why you wouldn't just a get a wireless headset. Why this headset which is wired needs charging is beyond me but I thought the whole point of a wired headset or anything wired is not having to charge it so this headset was a big waste of money.
after a couple of weeks of intermittent short use the headset has started to crackle and echo like crazy. sounds like a lose connection with the crackling and I've no idea what's causing the echo, it does it when ever it feels like it and stops in the same faasion. Sent back after it was progressively getting worse and worse.
