I love how simple the game is. It does take a few hours to understand fully how everything works, but it is part of the fun. Nothing is spelled out to you, you decide what kind of farm you want to run and how you want to run it! Wanna be a dairy farmer, work the field and save up cash to buy some cows, but make sure you bale some hay so they have food and can produce milk and fertilizer! Buy dozens of different farming equipment and brand names. Choose tractors, balers, tippers, cultivators, livestock trailers, different size harvesters and headers of different sizes to help you get work done faster. It's a great balanced game with some very cool details.
Farming Simulator 18 Works very well on the 2DS XL and I play it all the time. The only reason I would not give 5 stars is because this version did not receive any on of the updates that the Android and IOS versions did. You will not get the Horsch 9m Seeder or the bigger cultivator which is a real shame because the 2DS controls are a joy compared to the slippery tablet version that has you moving the camera more often than you would like. If you can live with the game as it is, than 22.00$ is a fair deal when you can farm on the go wherever you are.
I really enjoy this game, it may not be the most action packed title around but it scratches my micromanaging itch. This is the first game I have played in the series so I can't say if it is any better or worse then the others. I now have the mobile version and the controls are not as good as the 3ds, however the graphics are superior on a phone or tablet. If your looking for hours of enjoyment not really doing anything I would highly suggest this game on the 3 or 2ds.
Feels similar to that of the console/PC versions of Farming Simulator. The game is slow paced as you have to grow plants and raise animals but it’s good to pass the time and relax with if you don’t feel like sitting on your couch or computer chair. Graphics are pretty good as well. So far it’s my favorite game to play on my 3DS. The game also has real farm equipment in it as well from various manufacturers (except John Deere) but has New Holland and Case IH to name a few. The game is easy to play and makes easy use of the various functions with so few buttons.
My 7 year old had Christmas money to spend and picked this out. I was skeptical that it would get any use but I was dead wrong. When he and his dad started the game there was a learning curve to figuring out the lay of the land but they are now hooked. I appreciate how they learn basic farming and business concepts. The game is fairly complex, children under 10 might require the help of an adult occasionally
