I was a big fan of the initial game in the series (Middle Earth: SOM). Unfortunately this game does not live up to its predecessor. The open world feels bland and repetitive, while the Nemesis system remains precisely the same. You would expect the devs to improve upon their best feature rather than rest on their laurels.
The endgame is a massive grind that pushes you to buy add-ons to get the best stuff and progress quickly.
Get this is it's £5 or free. Otherwise it's not worth your time.
Items arrived in different packing stating that game has arabic subtitles, packing also states game is not for sale/resale outside of north Africa and the middle East so unsure how I received this unit in the UK. Thankfully the first option upon installing/updating allowed me to set everything back to English. Game seems fun only a couple of hours in so far though.
Having completed the previous game, i looked forward to playing this one. Enjoyed it the begin with. Although a few changes from original, it is overall very similar. I enjoyed the first game so this wasn't a huge problem for me. However some of the bugs, like spy issue with an Overlord and fight pits with CPU vs CPU, ended up being to big an issue for me to go to the end of the game. Completed most of it though, so got my money's worth. If you liked original, buy this. docked 2 stars due to the 2 main bugs, and also the repetitive nature needed to be able to complete the game gets a bit dull.
Really good game however got to about 25 hrs game-play and the game crashes meaning you cannot complete. very frustrating when contacting the seller they advised that i am outside the return window. thus to say will not be dealing with them again.
I had moments where I really enjoyed it and wanted to progress. Unfortunately it is very flawed as the character sticks to everything with the climbing element being frustrating.
The graphics have moments of being great and then seem to become heavily downgraded.
Combat is really good but I found it became let down by the repetitive nature especially with siege fights. Combat would get interrupted by the warchief and commanders which was fine at first but after became increasingly annoying when you would have a chain or unskippable introductions which could last a few minutes. Combat would also stop if a commander died near you. During the later portion of the game this will occur a lot.
The fourth act was fun at first but became a grind.
I never felt the need to buy loot boxes and never felt them really forced.
I loved the first game but I only like this one. It's great fun lopping off heads and dismembering limbs but for me it becomes bit of a grind towards the end. I think I'm pretty near to finishing it but it's becoming a bit of a chore when it should still be enjoyable. Way too long, I'm not enjoying it enough to finish it.
