My disk was so disgustingly dirty when I received it that my xbox couldn't read it. After a good clean it worked fine and has been working fine for the last month. just beware when purchasing that its obviously used and they don't check the disks beforehand.
Some of the same problems exist. The legendary difficulty is not only difficult it is brutally unfair. The enemies get too tough too fast. Before I even got halfway through the story I was getting killed almost instantly by bandit thugs. They weren’t even bandit Chiefs. When you’re fighting someone head on it is completely impossible to avoid damage. Even after choosing skills that make my armor better and increasing my health to 200 I was still getting killed in less than five hits. I saw a walk-through on YouTube on how to upgrade your Smithing to 100 quickly. Apparently you have to go inside every iron mine and mine as much ore and then turn that into silver and then gold and then make rings and then sell them. Yeah here’s what they didn’t tell me: EVERY MINE HAS OP BANDITS THAT SLAUGHTER YOU! Even if you have “superior “dwarven armor everywhere on you they can still shoot you to death with just two arrows. Even if you and your enemy have 50% health there is a chance that he can just instantly kill you with a quick time event. It’s completely unfair. Gameplay is still 100% hack and slash. Blocking with a shield is still the worst in gaming history. All this does is lessen damage. In every game I’ve ever played in my life, blocking actually prevents all damage. Some of the races you can pick from are still completely useless because their powers don’t help at all. I’m not even sure it’s possible to finish this game on legendary mode while using some of these races just because of how useless they are. Honestly if the difficulty didn’t get ramped up too quickly I would probably end up falling in love with this game. However the problem is that before the game even gets halfway completed enemies become too OP and I end up struggling just to get through half the game.
Maybe I didn't give it a chance, but I found the controls clunky and difficult to use. Can't compare to Dark Souls or The Witcher. The graphics were like watching a 1960s tv. Can't say much about the story, but after reading raving reviews I expected better.
Skyrim is an absolute adventurers paradise. For the sake of this review though I want to stick with what's new to this release previous to its Xbox 360 counterpart. The mod scene for this game seems to be less family oriented compared to Fallout 4. I found myself sifting through more skimpy armor mods than I'd of imagined just to find functionality mods or weapons mods. If you're an achievement hunter you'll also be sad to find out that even the most miniscule of mods will completely disable you from racking up that gamerscore. The HD graphic update to the game is very nice and it does breath fresh air into those old dungeons from its earlier release. Over all its not a bad game by far but having played it before on a previous console and having already paid for all its content once before I found it hard to justify buying it again solely for the things mentioned above. I struggled with staying interested in this title a second time around. With Elder Scrolls online launching it's morrowind expansion here soon I'd recommend giving that a go instead of reinvesting in this unless you're an absolute die hard fan.
They could have fix the flaws in the original instead of leaving them in this edition. The constant voice overs and characters blocking each other gets annoying. I would rate the original five stars. Since this is remastered, I expect more when paying full price for the same game.
