Supposed to be a multiplayer game. But it isn't a multiplayer game Xbox one has done a dis service by only allowing multiplayer on Xbox live. Ive bought several games trying to play with my son but have been misled on every game. Ready to sell my Xbox.
Graphic wise this game is good. However actual gameplay there is none. Using a controller you cannot drive the cars the front brakes seem to lock up even when you don't use the brakes. Just making a sharp turn makes the brakes lock. Driving moderately fast on track and turning into soft turns locks up the brakes, basically you need to crawl the vehicle to be able to round any track. Which defeats the purpose of racing you can't compete and as soon as you get off track it piles up penalty points faster than you can acquire them. It doesn't matter what vehicle you choose it's the same FWD, RWD, AWD same thing and I've tried changing the settings nothing works to correct this. Another thing I don't like is the fact that you cannot change button functions it has two default settings both of which are awkward to use especially if you're transitioning from Grand Turismo style setup. Maybe if you have a steering wheel simulator setup it might work, but not worth the effort.
No split screen, career mode is nothing more than the next race (you cant' buy cars or upgrade 'em), and i think i'm stuck on the second race. Even with novice play, and easy settings (and i'm an avid racing game player), i can't catch the AI cars, they're simply faster.
This is only the second time I have returned a piece of gaming software. This is over a period of 25 years of gaming.
The string of busted and content lacking releases this year has finally got me, and this broken and bare version of Assetto Corsa is the worst offender. The day one patch is a slight improvement, but the amount of screen tearing is still not acceptable. I'm usually immune to some screen tear but this game has too much. Then there is the giant stutter whenever you contact another car, or a wall. So basically this game has to stop everything else that it's doing, calculate some damage or the effect of an impact, then resume racing when it's done. Never seen anything like it before.
The lack of content is also not acceptable. There's a Drift mode, a Career mode and a Special Events mode. The problem with the Career mode is that it contains the SAME EXACT races as the Special Events mode, only slightly remixed! Add to that the AI drivers running lap times that are either near or completely impossible to replicate, and you end up with what is a disappointing package. Don't forget the lack of a private lobby function for online play, which means forget running league races or grouping up with friends. Release date for private lobby is unknown, if ever.
Do not apply the PC reviews to the console game. It's obvious the PS4 version was developed as if the PC version did not exist. The missing content and features have either become future (paid) DLC or something that might get added through a patch at some point. Or not. The handling model is excellent and the only solid part of the game. Maybe a year from now, after a few patches and a big price drop this game might be worth it. Right now it's a disappointing mess.
The game is terrible. The cars drive terrible. After part way through the game , the game starts me over to the beginning after showing an error message over and over. All I had was problems from this game , so I got a refund.
