Firstly I'd like to say I've played all 3 of the crackdown games, course the original was a classic and at the time a fresh perspective on the open world videogame genre. I absolutely loved the original game, the 2nd installment was very much copy and paste of the original then sadly I have to admit the 3rd instalment has suffered from the same fate. Crackdown 3 just doesn't innovate enough to have a reason to exist when you have other open world titles like Red Dead Redemption or Grand Theft Auto it's hard to justify this game for full price. Now there is a market I can offer this too, if you've played the crackdown series before and want more of the same experience then I highly recommend you pick up this game. I knew what I was buying before I bought it, the game plays pretty much the same as the originals and I love that. It's like playing the same game from my younger days all over again and if you had the same experiences then I think this is a great purchase for you. ALSO if you own game pass on XB then you can play this game for free! Anyway I've got to get back to the AGENCY!
Well, I've been following this games development since it was announced and I was so hyped up for what they showed, a fully destructible city that you could bring down with your friends and get creative with bosses. It was delayed several times to which I said "ok at least they're going to try make sure it s right on release"
I got it day one and after playing it a good while I was quite disappointed. The city destruction is limited to wrecking zone, a pvp only mode which shipped with 2 modes and a small area of "destructible" buildings and my BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT is that this mode has shipped with not party options meaning you can't play with your friends you just have to play with random players which is a huge let down like that wasis literally one of it's best selling points being able to destroy things with your friends.
The campaign was fun and I did enjoy it but I can't help but feel most of the game was inferior to the first game, the voice acting and cutscenes were mediocre and boss fights weren't all as interesting. I liked the new movement but it feels like you can go as far as you could be for in 1 big jump. Driving is absolutely horrible. The cars drive like they're on ice because you can go around any corner in any car side ways it just seems lazy. I do like however that you can call your agency vehicles and transform them into the others you want but I wish they had the transformation animation from the first crackdown and maybe more options. Also I dislike that you can only lay the campaign with 1 other player and not 3 taking away more fun. The ui is very basic. They're still waiting to implement keys to the city which wasn't ever in an of the previous games to start but I feel that it won't make much difference because at the moment the game is just so empty, it really took no time at all to clear the campaign even my friend who is fairly new did it on medium difficulty quickly compared to the first crackdown There's just so much missing from this game not just from what was advertised but for a crackdown game. I really liked the new city and all the colours but there's not enough there and it wasn't long before I got bored and went to play something else. I know they have a road map for the games future but they're going to have to pull off a heck of an overhaul to get the game to where it needs to be, until then I think I'll leave it to one side and hole they sort it
Been playing the solo campaign for about an hour now. As a big fan of the original Crackdown games I pleased to say this feels absolutely authentic. I was worried after years of development hell that the finished product just wouldn't be the same. But it is. All the platforming and gun play mayhem that you know and love. Just hearing the sound of those orbs when you collect them makes me so happy. I'll be hearing that noise in my sleep, just like I did 11 years ago when playing the original.
People who give this game a bad review have not given the game any time it's all about running and jumping around the city collecting orbs to power up your character then go battle all the bosses in hard to reach buildings there is loads more to do like the races r all fun, finding all the monkey shine bars, climbing the propaganda towers, and loads more. If I could make the game better it would be just two things an option to switch off the f word speech so my son could play it and make the special car better. It's a game that will be one of my all time favourites
Loving this game, it's Crackdown reborn and brings back the nostalgic smile of familiarity from all those years ago. Absolutely no idea why it's taken so long to come out though as it brings nothing new to the table, what were the developers doing? but it is great fun to play and I can't really ask for much more than that. I've actually taken a break from Red Dead to play this.
Although, the multiplayer mode “Wrecking Zone” is atrocious and should never have been released. The campaign which was made by an entirely different studio has been great fun, and has amazing music throughout. I haven’t enjoyed an XBOX exclusive as much since Halo 3. It is dumb, but it doesn’t pretend to be something it is not. Terry Crews fans will appreciate this. Note: I would everyone remap their controller using the XBOX ACCESSORIES app, as the control scheme is very counter intuitive.
really enjoying this new crackdown looks great in 4k my issue is the online wreking zone this is really as basic as it gets very small maps the destruction is nothing like advertised over the past 3 years of hype and I fail to see how they would need cloud power to run the destruction it really is nowhere near as good as destruction in the battlefield games.
Crackdown 3 was highly anticipated and was critically mauled upon release. However I found the game fun to play, along with clean and colourful graphics. Yes the game could have been more inventive, but if you enjoy single player campaigns that are not overly difficult you could do a lot worse than Crackdown 3. I would recommend it especially if you have not played the first two games.
