It's interesting book for The Division fans (but not a must have). It's also a useful book with non-fictional informations/tips for surviving a real catastrophe.
The book includes notes from a fictional person living in the "The Division" universe that complement the in-game history. The person also appears in-game in one of the final side-missions. Again, the person story and informations inside the book are not vital to understand The Division's main story but only complementary.
It's a light read with an interesting 'annotated' scheme a la S’ BY DOUG DORST or HOUSE OF LEAVES. Don't expect too much in terms of plot / revelations / narrative depth, but it does a great job at immersing you in the universe and putting your in The Division mood / headspace. Don't expect any in-game rewards either, but the puzzles and references to in-game content are endearing if you play / played it.
The games has an interesting premise and could make a great movie or book if written right, but as it stands in the game it feels like your work work as a sleeper agent is pointless and changes nothing in the world. Regardless though, the campaign is worth a play. What is most important though is the end game which is virtually non existent. It's as bad if not worse that Destiny on launch. There is simply nothing to do, in my opinion. If you liked destiny you'll probably like this game, but I'd suggest buying it on sale.
The game is much better now at the time of this review but I paid big bucks to get it on launch because I was super hyped about it from all the footage they had been showing pre release. Turns out it's a super fun, strategic action game but the amount of glitches it had for a AAA game is unacceptable. The contents are great and there are lots of side quests and collectibles but the end game items (gold) is way too hard to obtain and you have to do a lot of repetition, the XP gained x lost in the Dark Zone is way too unfair and makes it a lengthy process to rank up in the DZ, etc.. If you are into the whole MMO farming deal you will have a good time. All in all it s super fun to plat co-op or solo, has great contents and I gave it an extra star due to the INCREDIBLE scenarios / maps and outstandingly detailed graphics that really make you feel like you are in a real post apocalyptic New york. I love the game but be prepared for bugs and long extensive hours if you want the best gear. Oh and don't buy this if you are gonna be comparing it to Destiny. THIS IS NOT DESTINY!!
The game really only begins at level 30 but otherwise its very fun but personally i think its only fun with friends. It was a grind getting to level 30 and now with all the updates you really need to get the season pass for this game to even utilize it more.
Solid Ubisoft release. I got a ton of play out of it, even after beating the main game. The only downside is that Ubisoft recycles a lot of game mechanics on new releases from their older games which can make them all repetitive if you play several of their releases. In addition, the multiplayer (while super fun at the beginning) became boring and cyclical after awhile (which is why I traded it in).
