As the PSVita is still very young there aren't too many games out for it just yet and Disgaea 3, though it's a port of the PS3 title, is a good way to bolster your library of games. If you've played a Disgaea game then you should already know what to expect from this but if you haven't then you should know that Disgaea is a tactical, grid based, RPG game that takes nothing seriously and loves being over the top in every way possible. It's a fun way to kill some time if you just want to put a few hours away and chip away at the story little bits at a time but with randomly generated item worlds and tons of different party members, moves, and equipment to build up on this game can kill hundreds of hours for hardcore gamers as well.
If you're into SRPG titles, own a Vita, and haven't tried Disgaea yet then this is a good entry point. However, if you've played the PS3 version there isn't much more here for you so unless you REALLY like the game you could probably pass on it.
Don't know what else to say, other than, if you've played and enjoyed the other Disgaea's you'll enjoy this portable version just as much. Story is pretty odd, but it has good voice actors. And just as every other Disgaea before it, it's hours upon hours upon hours of gameplay. If you're not into tactics games, or grinding, you may not enjoy this. If you love having something to keep you occupied while you wait for class, are on a break at work, or on a flight, there's no other game I prefer.
I pre-ordered this hoping it was going to be similar to Final Fantasy in the early years. It was exactly what I was expecting and was very great. I'm in the navy so deployments go buy much faster with games that you can just pick up and play like this one.
Graphics, sound and music are all amazing. Especially for a handheld system like this one. Story is a little farfetched but I enjoy it and I'm sure that others feel the same way. Only bad things that I can say about this game is that the voice overs are silly, childish and sometimes don't fit the characters, and it is filled with stupid jokes that are mildy entertaining.
I really did enjoy the game but learning curve is a bit steep and gave me a bit of a headache. This was my first time playing a JRPG/Tactical RPG/Whatever and I found it to be quite enjoyable. Forgive my naive take on the game but even for someone who does not normally play games in this genre I had a blast. Parts of the game are a bit confusing and the tutorials try their best to explain everything but there is a lot going on in this game so it seems much of the detail was glossed over. There's plenty of solid in-depth reviews already so I'll keep this short. Its a good game, lots of hours will be spent on my Vita thanks to Disgaea 3.
I loved final fantasy tactics. i loved ogre tactics. But the Disgaea series stands apart from them, by taking level to ludicrous heights. Want a 1 million level character, OK better spend the thousands of hours it takes to do it.
this is my first disgaea game , and I have to say I'm impressed , the gameplay is very fun , specially on the go , this game works really well with the vita , specially when u want contiue later and u can't save , just put the vita on sleep mode , the graphics are really crisp and the animations look REALLY good on the screen . highly recommended for RPG fans !
