Oh yeah! I am the first guy to post a review of this item on Amazon.ca. When I purchased this game I was hoping that I would actually get to drive the Delorean but as it turns out, anytime you are using a vehicle the computer takes over. Kind of a bummer but the other aspects of this game more than compensate for this! This game most definitely should be considered as a fourth back to the future movie. The storyline of the game takes place six months after the third movie. A different person does the voice for Marty because Fox was unable to. But one thing I do not understand is if Fox was unable to do Marty then why did Fox do the voices for four other characters? Of course I will not spoil it and tell you the characters that Fox voices for. Another thing that I do not understand is how Doc got the Delorean. At the end of the third movie the Delorean is destroyed and Doc is time travelling in a locomotive. The locomotive does not make any appearance in this game. How did Doc get the Delorean back and what ever happened to the locomotive? In the movies Doc would always say that something was "disastrous", in the game he always says "catastrophic". I have also noticed that the game has the exact same incorrect speed info as in the movies. Has anyone actually seen the speedo of a stock Delorean? The stock speedo only goes up to 85 mph and if you were to max it out you would probably sieze the engine. So how can the Delorean go 88 mph when the max speed is rated at 85 mph? In the game you get a look at the speedo and it shows that it can go up to 95 mph (this is incorrect). One would assume that the Delorean has been outfitted with a turbo, supercharger or NOS. Although, The Delorean does not make any sounds that resemble a turbo (such as winding up or sucking in air). The Delorean does not have that deep sound of a supercharger. At no point either in the movies or in the game do you see any NOS bottles or a switch. Also in the third movie when Marty tells Doc that the fuel line is leaking, Doc becomes very concerned to which Marty then says "Do not worry we have Mr. Fusion right?" Doc then states that "Mr. Fusion powers the time circuits and that the engine runs on regular ordinary gasoline". So what is up with the 88 mph?
This game is a single player and can not connect online. I never play single player games because I find that playing against the computer is boring. I always play multiplayer games. I have to say that playing this single player game was actually very fun and I did enjoy it. I have heard complaints that the game's graphics are not very good and that the game is to easy. Let me say that for a "animated" game I think that the graphics are perfect! In my opinion the difficulty of the game would be "medium". There was no way that I would be able to beat this game without the "hint option" guiding me. What I liked about this game was that it was not quite easy enough to make the game boring and unchallenging but it was not quite difficult enough to make me angry and frustrated, so all in all it pretty much sits at middle ground as I said before. The hint option is very odd because sometimes it is very vague (so you have to putz around alot) wile at other times it would specifically tell you to do something. There was only one part in this game where I got stuck but with a little help from a online video walkthrough (I am not sure if I am allowed to mention other websites in Amazon reviews) I managed to get past the stuck part. The ending of this game leaves you jaw dropping and it is very obvious that the journey is not finished yet. A very fun game to play and a must have for any back to the future fan. Do not miss it! Purchase it!
I loved finding this. It was still sealed when I got it which I didn't notice either way when I bought it. It arrived very quickly. The intended recipient lit up like a Christmas tree when he got it as well
My 10-year-old son watched the movies not long ago and really got into them, so when he found out there was a game, he really wanted it. I did not have high hopes for the game. For one, movie adaptations are usually weak, and for another, I can remember previous adaptations of BTTF for the NES, way back when, that were abysmal.
So I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this game. I actually watched my son play a good portion of it because it was like watching a new BTTF movie - one that was better than the second or third movie! They got a really great voice actor for Marty. He really sounds like a 1980s Michael J. Fox. And of course, Christopher Lloyd is back as Doc Brown (he'd be harder to imitate). The story is interesting and really feels like it fits well with the movies. It's not the most technically or graphically advanced game, and some of the gameplay controls take some getting used to and can be frustrating, but all-around, this is a really impressive game.
This game is cool, but there are some parts that are hard to do so you'll have to use YouTube to help with those parts. I really like the film trilogy better, but what I like about this game is a continuation of the trilogy and the Delorean mysteriously returns after it has been destroyed by a train (you'll have to see the film and play the game to understand that). The best thing is whenever I play this game it makes me feel like I am traveling through time.
I had seen the segments of this game available on the PlayStation store, but decided to wait on them...figuring eventually they'd be released in disc format. I was not disappointed. This is a very entertaining game, and a special treat for all of us "Children of the 80's" who grew up with Back to the Future. The only issue I had was that it was over way too quickly. Hopefully they've got more chapters planned for the future.
