I did a brake system and clutch bleed and flush with this fluid about two weeks ago on my VW Jetta TDI. My brake pedal feels a lot firmer. Also, when switching gears when I depress the clutch, you feel a more positive engagement. I would recommend this OEM DOT 4 fluid for anyone looking to replace their existing fluid. Although I need more time to give an accurate review, I'll come back to edit if anything changes.
Always used ATE super blue.... it sadden me when I found out it was no longer blue. That's ok. Now when I bleed everything out the blue will be replaced by amber.
Nothing more to say about this brake fluid. It's great, not super expensive and I've been using it for years in my STi. Zero issues with boiling. I do find that it needs to be bled right about at the 2 year mark, sometimes a tad sooner if you are doing track days.
Good stuff, but thanks and no-thanks. Due to the DOT requirements, the "Super blue" is no longer available. I used to alternate the "blue" and the "amber" between brake fluid flushes. The different contrasting colors were especially helpful when you flush out the old fluid replacing with the new ones and knowingly there is no guess work because when the color changes while you a bleeding the line, you know the old fluid were purged, replaced with the new ones. Well, thanks to the DOT requirements, with no valid reason, they banned such a distinctive useful feature just because they specify that the color for brake fluids from now on should either be amber or clear. I thought DOT's function is to ensure safety issues, surely their interests in cosmetic preference is running amok and goes over and beyond their purpose. Thanks to all the Ralph Nadar wannabees...running that department into a typical government dumb failure.
1 can bled my whole system on my 2005 cts V. i dont daily drive the car but pedal feels great. i havent put it on the track with this fluid yet. i normally just drive the heck out of it on the street and have had no issues.
Pricey but will work in ALL my vehicles and was perfect for flushing the brake sustem on our F-250. I believe that paying the premium is worth it as brakes are a safety item...why would you skimp on that? Would (and probably will) buy again. Shipping was fast and it was well packaged.
