This game is ok to kill a little time. I'm disappointed that after the first level (easy) that gives the player three choices to pick the answer from, it goes into the modes (medium, hard) that the player has to write in the answer and even a minor typo is a "fail." Some of the questions are beginning to repeat . Overall, for the price, it's ok.
Originally rated this a 4, but had to edit to a 3 due to repetitive categories, AND eventually the profile breaks and I have to create a new one in order to play the game again.
The classic game show has made its way to the DS platform. I rated the game 5 stars for fun, because I personally LOVE quiz show style games, and have spent hours and hours playing this one. It never gets boring, and the difficulty settings are realistic. The easy setting gives you multiple choice answers for the questions, the medium setting does not. It follows the game show: you have to input your answers. They give you plenty of time to respond too, which I thought was a great improvement over the SNES version. The hard setting is a challenge, as the questions are more difficult, and I believe you have a little less time to answer in, but it's still very reasonable. One more convenient feature is that you can choose to answer with a keyboard that you tap with the stylus, or you can choose to hand write with the stylus to answer the question. I had NO trouble with the DS picking up my handwriting either. You can also use your winnings to buy new outfits for your character or for the host. It's not a necessary feature per se, but it's kind of fun to try thing on (yes, I'm a girl lol).
As for age-group, I would say young adult to adult because none of the categories or questions are really related to or directed at a younger kids age group.
The game is fun but the categories are already staring to repeat and we have only had the game for a few days now. The easy mode is multiple choice and the rest you have to type in your answers. In the upper levels the opponents are fast and I don't always get the question completely read before someone buzzes in. Great way to waste time and learn at the same time.
I love this game. I typically play on easy so I don't have to spell correctly, but it is a fun game either way. I wish there was a way to not play against the computer, but that's okay. It has great questions and is challenging without being too hard. I do like the wii version betterm, but this is a fun way to play Jeopardy on the go.
