Fun game, controls are little wonky at first. After playing Assassins Creed 2 then playing this it was kind of a let down since I heard this was so great. I liked AC2 better. There are certain areas that Batman should be able to climb but cant because it would be to easy for the scene. Overall its fun.
It is not as if I didn't enjoy the game for only $20 from the day I got it, but once you beat the game it leaves a lot to be desired, meaning once you beat it, you don't want to beat it again. Even if the game had a multiplayer it would have reason for me to play it again, but I traded it in for call of duty once I beat it. The game is very fun overall, but it would be better if I could have roamed around the city as a bonus and not just be on the island. But maybe I will buy the next batman game at a more reduced price than it is currently now
I am a serious gamer and really enjoy getting into my games. yknow getting lost in the story and characters and really immersing myself in it. So I stayed away from this one due to the awful rep. of comic book and movie adaptions. But after reading nothing but good stuff about it and how the critics raved it to be a must have, I went and got it. I was very excited to wear the cape and be the most iconic superhero to ever grace our imaginations. And at first all seemed well, then I got to see the first cut-scene, bats and jokes look okay but the rest are all SURPRISED or something, I mean I know these are only filler characters but it is really annoying to me, I mean how could you put out a serious game with all your characters looking like they just put their finger in a light socket? So I was gonna let that slide, then the boredom set in, I made it about halfway through until I just couldnt stay awake anymore. The game tries to throw some interesting things your way, but you can see it coming a mile away, and for a prison there sure isnt much in "finding" a route to some unreachable place, there is always a heating duct to get in, and all of these are the same. The boss battles even worse, they look nice but are easy and uneventful. This feels to me like a straight run through beat `em up and move on. I really feel it deserved more attention to almost every level, and there should have been more to do then just run around looking for the next heating duct. The fighting system is okay but that gets boring pretty quick too, you can only press the same button so many times before you say, well is there something more? I still dont understand why it is toted so high, I would say pass or buy very cheap if you are a mature gamer like me.
This game is pretty bad. Your movements and objectives are completely dictated. It is a puzzle game with moving people. There is almost no fighting, and you are stuck crawling through crates and looking for where you're supposed to go all the time. This was NOT fun. The graphics are very good, the cut scenes are worth watching, but the gameplay is just not fun. Lame. I love batman and was completely turned off by this game.
I am not a hard core gamer. I have been gaming for quite a number of years. I purchased the PS3 version of this game. It was enjoyable, but not a game I'll go back to. In fact, I haven't even finished the game yet, it just doesn't pull me back in like Resistance or the Call of Duty games have. Not disappointed, but would not buy again.
I liked the game but I am more of a diverse guy. I don't want to just run around for 4 hours grappling around ceilings and such. I want an engrossing story!! And yes i know it's called Arkham Asylum but, can we get off the island!!! Let's take the Batmobile for a spin. All in all i think that there are better titles out there!
