The plastic pipe is made of a very stiff plastic, which causes two problems. First, it makes the pipe all but impossible to slip on to the pump. Secondly, the pipe isn't the correct shape to properly discharge the waste oil into most containers. The solution to these defects is simple. Heat the stiff plastic end of the pipe with a heat gun or hair drier until it is pliable . The pipe will then stretch and easily slip on to the pump. Using the same technique, heat the whole length of the pipe and bend it into a more appropriate shape. After doing these things, I found the pump to be easy to use and efficient at pumping out the waste oil.
The pump really should come with a flexible rubber hose instead of the cheap stiff plastic one.
Pump is OK. Attaches to dipstick on my 8.2L Merc's. Takes about 5 min of pumping for each engine. I'd get a better pump if oil changes were more frequent.
Beware...the plunger arm is screwed into stopper in the cylinder. If you keep twisting the plunger, the arm will detach from the plunger inside the cylinder. All you have to do is push the arm all the way into the cylinder and screw clockwise to tighten it.
I thought mine broke and then realized this point messing around with it in my frustration.
when product was working, it was great. pressure hose ruptured. i was still inside 90 day warranty period so put in a warranty claim. two months later and I have not received a replacement part, I have emailed and called their customer support numerous times, and not do not even get a reply. so, I have been without a working pressure washer for nearly three months now, and have no idea when this company will step up and support its product.
Nice sturdy pump but it won't seal to the oil dipstick mount on my 2018 Mercury 4.5L, it keeps sucking air around the connection point and it took a half hour to pump the oil out of the engine. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to figure out the issue, if I do I'll report back here.
