Many critics bashed this game when it came out but...DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! I have literally 200 video games, including many classics and this is one of the best in my collection. The game is very similar to the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron games for Nintendo 64 and Gamecube also by Factor 5, which are my favorite games of all time. If you're one of those Rogue Squadron fans anxious for a new RS sequel, YOU MUST PLAY THIS! The controls are great, that's right. I said the controls are good. The motion controls are very responsive and well done. I think critics like IGN wanted to make up excuses for this game being too hard for them. That's another thing, this game is difficult. Not Contra difficult but a bit harder than Rogue Squadron. If you're a hardcore gamer, it should take you a week or two to beat it. The story is the best in a game yet and the music is incredible. Overall, I would highly recommend this game to Rogue Squadron Fans and Hardcore gamers. I loved every second of this game.
I love this game! While achieving a high rank on some of the levels can prove to be a daunting task, I enjoy being able to play as a dragon rider and engage in fantastical combat. Not only do I enjoy the game play, but unveiling the story is a real treat all in itself. I recommend this for any fantasy gamer/dragon lover.
I'm glad I ignored some of the negative reviews and purchased this game. Great graphics, stirring music, and simply a lot of fun to play. You need to spend a little time practicing, and of course you need to learn what the motion sensing controller does (neither of which takes all that long), but once you've done this, you really feel like you're flying a dragon and working as a team to defend your people and lands. Recommended.
I've read a lot of reviews about this game before buying it. Everyone says the controls are hard and slow. Also that in game play is very difficult. Only thing I did not like was that the targeting system was completely weird and random. The controls are pretty basic; tilt control up, dragon goes up, tilt down, dragon dives... Etc. I believe how everyone sees it as slow is that the game uses real physics, so it doesn't just turn on a dime or stays arrow straight. I played the game and finished in approx 2 1/2 weeks. It's kinda short but the tasks are difficult and challenging. For people looking for a challenge then this is the game you want to play. There are multiple ways to fight with the dragon, air or ground; the main way though is air. There is a practice trial where you can practice your skills in flight and fighting any time. (Helps a lot). Any questions just comment.
