Chick-Lit isn't typically a genre I read and enjoy, but You Me and the Colors of Life is an exception. This story is beautiful and moving and will definitely make you cry a few times. Janica and Thomas's story will also make you appreciate the littlest of blessings in your life. They are characters who you can't help but fall in love with and root for. I don't think there was a single character in this story that I didn't enjoy. This book was almost a 5-Star read for me, but at times I felt like the story was too busy and focused on the lives of too many characters, but in the end I was able to see how each of them were important to the story. There were also times where I felt the characters' inner monologues would ramble on and on. Even at 4-Stars, I will be adding this book to my list of favorites.
This is another of the free Kindle books given away by Amazon for World Book Day, and again I am pleased with the book. The story takes place in Germany and follows the life of an amazing young woman named Janica who had a severe case of lymphoma when very young. She survived and determined to see all the bright colors and live life to the very fullest. She volunteers in a hospice for children, has an amazing assortment of quirky friends and family and loves her life. One night while crossing a bridge she sees a young man standing as if to jump, decides to intervene and her life takes a completely new turn. I don't want to give away any of the twists and turns, but it is a very satisfying adventure with all of the many emotions of a life, both good and bad.
This book has the perfect title. Lot of important life lessons to highlight and remember from this book. Author described some beautiful and peaceful sceneries and lovely, imaginative after life. This book talks about love, understanding, support, relationships, friendship and many more wonderful ingredients of a happy life. It was very deep but sad so if you looking for an uplifting and light book then this might not be something for you. It talks about kids at hospice and their adorable ways to enjoy those last precious moments, battle with cancer and remembering the better parts of life with support of friends and family around, suicidal thoughts and conquering over them and many more important difficult parts of life.
This is not my typical kind of book. I cried many tears. The story is filled with heart-breaking loss but also hope. Despite the sadness, it teaches how to find joy in the moments we have here on earth and in the promises of heaven.
Life, love, family the circle of life are brought together in this eloquently written book. It shares the connection each person brings with them and their gifts to each other of what love looks like? “ Putting yourself second, supporting your partner without reservations, suffering through tough times side by side, working on yourself, celebrating everything you had in common while giving your partner the freedom to retain their idiosyncrasies?” Quoted from the book you, me, and the colors of life.
