Bought this to use in my 2011 MDX because the heavy duty Honda DOT3 burnt up on me in less than a year (mainly city driving, no towing) so after reading forums and reviews decided to go with this product which has a higher boiling point than the Honda or any DOT3 and figured if it was good against brake fade on the track than it should be just as good in city driving stopping a 4000lb SUV. From the minimal amount of driving which I have done after bleeding the brakes I can feel a slight difference in brake pedal feel, it’s still spongy but there is a noticeable amount of new resistance in the pedal feel. I haven’t done any heavy braking so I can’t comment on the brake fade, but there is a noticeable improvement in brake responsiveness. For those of you who are afraid to use anything BUT Honda fluids, do some research and you will learn that all DOT 3’s are the same and all DOT4 are the same and must all meet the same requirements, look on your brake reservoir tank lid and it will tell you which brake fluids you can use. So far I’m happy and will update my review on longevity. Update: After driving around multiple days and also reconfirmed by my wife there is a noticeable improved pedal firmness and the brake responsiveness is greatly improved! These results I’m sure will be amplified when I change all my rotors and pads which are due very soon. Extremely satisfied! I ordered another liter to use in my 2014 civic.

I'm running this fluid in a car that sees track duty at least once a week all summer long, sometimes twice a week. This is a great budget option before stepping up to a true race fluid like Motul RBF 600 or 660, because it has a very high dry boiling point, a good wet boiling point, and is much less expensive, at half the price of the race fluids. I have used regular off the shelf DOT 4 fluid, like Prestone for example, which works OK, but this stuff has higher boiling points and is the same price as the lower quality stuff. This ATE Typ 200 also comes sealed in a metal bottle, and the shelf life in my case is excellent, with a use before date of 2026, meaning it hasn't been sitting on a shelf in a warehouse for years and sold as old stock. For the price, and for those of us who don't need to spend $60/L (RBF 600) or $75/L (RBF 660) on race brake fluid, this is a great way to go. It's also nice that it comes in 1L bottles instead of 500ml like the more expensive race fluid. I know WHY they sell it in that format, but the fact is, I generally bleed the whole system rather than just a couple of calipers, so having a bottle that is enough capacity for the whole system is nice.
I've tried many other brands and this one is the only one that doesn't need bleeding after a day at the race track..even two days .It is very stable and there are zero bubbles to give you the mushy pedal feeling. I put this in all of my cars and the pedal feel is the same from day one until I flush it ,@40.oookm or 3 years
Per liter it is more affordable than Motul RBF600 even if the boiling point isn't as high. But TYP 200 is still perfectly adequate for the occasional trackday. Can withstand 20 minute lapping sessions without fade. (My car is a 2019 Subaru BRZ with Brembos)
Recommended for my European automobiles. Convenient size for multiple brake jobs and easy to pore. Works well with the power bleeder I also purchased. Although identical to what is in your car, I would have liked it to be tinted, so I know when the old fluid is flushed. This would ensure I am not wasting new fluid and that the old fluid is displaced.
I did a brake system and clutch bleed and flush with this fluid about two weeks ago on my VW Jetta TDI. My brake pedal feels a lot firmer. Also, when switching gears when I depress the clutch, you feel a more positive engagement. I would recommend this OEM DOT 4 fluid for anyone looking to replace their existing fluid. Although I need more time to give an accurate review, I'll come back to edit if anything changes.
