Minha única reclamação é que esperava que aparecesse sobre o Orbital Air e o Crystal Palace (que não chegaram nem a ser mencionados), fora isso o livro tá incrível e bem imersivo, cheio de propagandas do mundo distópico e de Night City.
This review is for the kindle version used with the kindle app on an android tablet. It looks like there is a lot of information here, lots of artwork and text, just what I wanted.
The problem for me is that even on a 10" tablet it is quite hard to read the text (quite small) and make out details in the art. There seems to be no option to change the text size, there seems to be no way to zoom in on the art.
Needless to say this turns something that looks quite promising into an exercise in frustration. If the book could be updated to allow the reader to zoom in and read it properly, Im sure it would get 4 or 5 stars from me, but as it is Im considering trying to get a refund. Very disappointed.
A good lore book for collectors, but not much else here to write home about.
The book is hardback and is of very good quality, pages are a thick glossy paper and feel great to turn.
I found most of the pages filled with adverts to buff out the lack of actual content, its great for immersion and gives you an idea of the world, but as a result I find the content is seriously lacking.
The layout is generally confusing and off-putting as you read through, one minute you're reading on the left, then the right, then there's a small section on the next page, its all over the place.
I found the images of poor quality, nothing is sharp and clear, images are blurry, lack colour and are generally washed out. This may be a stylised thing, but I was hoping to see high contrast, sharp and clear screenshots, instead its just a mish mash of concept art and poor quality images, adverts and generally filler.
Very disappointed with this, there's nothing here you cannot find out online for free, the book whilst good quality doesn't give you anything new, its overpriced and generally boring to read.
Its missing so much content I don't even know where to begin!
Having been fortunate enough to have a PC able to play and enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 [within limits] I considered the true beauty and enjoyment of that game focused around the art and architecture of Night City. Sadly unlike the other Dark Horse Books I own there is zero insight in the art design but rather a self indulgent, in character promotional material regurgitating a handful of data chips found in dumpsters in the game with a few images from the game's promotional material littering the internet already. Owning the Dishonoured 2 art book and even the Ghost in the Shell live action Art Book this pales in comparison. I would strongly advise against buying this as new and pick up a cheap 2nd hand copy as this game fades in people's memory if you must pick it up. Better still buy up Cyberpunk Red or the original TTRPG.
Was bit disappointed, had good lore but needed more art like traditional art book. Some of the text though is inconsistent with lore in game. So it covers the world state well with some inconsistencies with game and needed more art book in it
When I originally pre-ordered this (probably 8 months to a year ago), it was advertised as the "Art of Cyberpunk". What I received was not an art book at all, but what could only be considered a "core lore book" for the actual RPG. Now, it isn't of course ...but it should have been. Very little art here folks; it is simply a glimpse into the world of Cyberpunk, and to me, not what was originally advertised. If you want an art book, this isn't it. I don't know if something like that will release in the future, but I will definitely hesitate before pulling the trigger. If you like walls of text and lore, lore, lore...then this book is for you! If you were expecting beautiful rendered art and concept work, then you'll have to go elsewhere.
This was my introduction to the world of this game, which I found intriguing strictly from a science fiction standpoint. A not-too-distant, dystopian setting with lavish realization in the promo videos seemed worth a try. Some reviewers complain this is not an "art of" book, and it doesn't claim to be. There is plenty of art in it, however, but it's concept art rather than screenshots from the game. Having read the whole book, there isn't much here that I found convincing. It shouldn't be too hard to imagine a near-term dystopia that is credible, but this one is presented as relentless violence, crime, corruption, drugs and always the "cyber" this and "smart" that, and always hacking. Most every image in the book is ugly, from disfigured "cybernetic" people to unappealing hardware to repellent locations you would never want to visit. Why would I play this game? As I feared, it sounds like little more than a sci-fi version of Grand Theft Auto, with everyone described as some form of criminal. Corporations wage war on each other yet somehow make money. Assassins, mercenaries, smugglers, gangs, hookers...you get the idea. I find the whole world created here unconvincing in many ways. The oddest problem is that it describes a future history which begins in our past, with things that simply didn't happen in the early part of this century. I know this game was a long time in development, but surely the creators could have figured out that they need to move their timeline back in order to give themselves some breathing room (chronologically speaking) between the real world we all know and the beginnings of their fictional storyline. For the Amazon price of $23, it's not a bad value, being a high-quality hardback in large format, with full color throughout. I'm disappointed with the game concept I discovered more than with the book.
