Fantastic game, great release by Square Enix. Everyone is complaining that the English voice-overs were not in the game at launch but that is because of Sony restrictions on Vita cartridges. Sony only allows 4GB maximum for physical Vita releases. This was a small hickup with the lack of English VO but that was quickly fixed. They can be download in the PlayStation store.
I purchased this PS Vita World of Final Fantasy from seller Delaware with FBA (fulfilled by Amazon). I was worried before placing my order since the image description has the day one edition cover, but the description doesn't mention any of the DLC contents. After receiving the product, I was thrilled to see that it was indeed the physical copy of the day one edition. The reason why I wanted the day one edition of this game is because the pre-orders, limited and one day editions are the only copies that came with the Japanese voice overs, Sephiroth summon, white chocobo, glow moogle and red bonnetberry. The English voice over for the original copy of the game is terrible! There were a handful of English voice over characters that made me cringe. Characters talk throughout the game not just during cuts scenes, so having the desired voice over for me was important. Now I can finally enjoy this game with much better voice acting and Sephiroth by my side.
It's hard to recommend games as everyone has a specific genre and style, but if you have been playing Final Fantasy in the very beginning then you will enjoy playing this game. I've never been into Pokemon/Digimon type games, but I am immersed with this game. The storyline is good, I particularly enjoy Lann's character, he always makes me laugh. Overall a great game for me to play before bed, just run around collecting new mirages.
I was a victim of the demo. I played it through, and had to have more so ordered. I have really been enjoying this game and so far one of my favorite Vita games. Why not 5 stars??? For me to give a game 5 it would have to be almost perfect, and although this game is great it does have some shortcomings.
Pros: Graphics-Just looks fantastic. Controls-doesn't really take advantage of the Vita's control abilities, but it is well mapped out. Stacking- I thought this would be kind of a dumb system, but it actually works well. Upgrade system - works great as well, giving you choices on what areas to upgrade first. Humor - Good use of humor so far. Load time are short for a handheld system
Cons: Can get repetitive. Fight, fight, find a small treasure. Repeat. Menus can be a little confusing Save system is fine, but I always prefer a save anywhere system. Sometimes I only get little pieces of time to play, and this is also important for a handheld. Sqeaky voices for the non main characters
In short. The game is a blast, and if you have vita you should get this. Not many high quality games for the Vita. The more I type this review the more I wonder if I should give it 5 stars.
Perfection, I swiotch between this and the PS4 one when I am on the go, sharing same game via cloud saves. Graphics are amazing, obviously it takes up its fair share of Vitas limited memory however. Controls are great, same as PS4 almost...only thing is Voice over file is ommitted byu default, if you want voice acting you have to download it seperate (Left out by default as space saving measure n doubt since many can play without it I guess).
I bought this version since it was cheaper than the PS4 one and apparently has the same content. If you're looking for something new and different than you've ever played before, this is probably not it. However, if you're looking for a solid RPG with Final Fantasy connections and a hint of Pokemon then this is your game. Hopefully Sony will do some more dual releases like this. The Vita is a great little system and deserves more top notch games like this one.
its fine was fun till i got to some hard part then it became a pain even did tips to win for the net but nope still lost even then not the games fault i just suck but it was fun till that moment.then it just became annoying. the game itself get s a 4 cause it has decent graphics and nice animations wich is really lacking here on the vita so many vita games being only 2d when i know the system can do so much more.
I'm not very fanatical when it comes to Final Fantasy. I haven't really played the games much besides Final Fantasy Theatrhythm and Final Fantasy 14 for a brief time. But I found this game to be very enjoyable that's a nice game for casual players. It also helped many besides myself scratch that Pokemon its waiting for the release of Sun and Moon. I say that but it's not definitely a Pokemon clone just Pokemon like.
I have a feeling this whole game was development practice for Kingdom Hearts III. It's a weird (but enjoyable) mix of Pokemon and Final Fantasy. You collect and evolve monsters to stack on your head and fight other and capture other monsters. It's a dumb premise, but an enjoyable game. It's probably the most "Final Fantasy" game I have played in a long time.
The game allows for cross-play with the PS4 version, but does not work on the PSTV.
Seller: Item as described and it showed up at my door in less than a week from a different province. When I’m done this game I hope to get my next game from the same seller.
Game: Once you get past the flood of totorial instructions it’s a great game and I can’t seem to put it down. Japanese voice acting and English subs with this edition. If you like traditional RPG’s this is perfect.
This game is for people who love Final Fantasy and Pokemon. The story isn't the greatest but the characters, monsters, and gameplay make up for it. The characters and monsters are incredibly cute and there is some mechanics involved in the battle system. Monsters have elemental affinities, strengths, weaknesses and skills. There are tons of combinations in "stacking" these monsters on your player character to become stronger. The turn based battle is a throwback to older Final Fantasy games.
The best thing is that you can set the battles to AUTO/SPEED UP mode so you fast-forward and go on autopilot during battles!
I'm taking off a star because the loading times are little too long. You have to load between every battle, every map change, every teleport... 10-15 seconds every loading screen adds up over time.
This game looks beautiful on the Vita. Not as good as the PS4 version from what I've seen but, great for a portable option.
