Worst thing about Xbox controllers is the dodgy input for headphones. My son uses his headphones for numerous things so is always unplugging them from is controller. We bought him a new controller for Christmas and literally a week later the headphone connection wasn’t working properly. This unit plugs in nice and snug and so far has been spot on headphones plugged in and pulled out hundreds of times. Chat mix audio, volume, mute controls all spot on. I’d recommend this product
After my sons 4th controllers 3.5mm headphone jack gave up (which is a common problem), I decided I wasn't going to shell out another 50 quid for the same thing to happen. Came across this and decided to give it a go. It had good reviews so why not. Glad I did as the controllers with the dodgy 3.5mm Jack's are all up and running as this uses the connection at the bottom of the controller.
It fits really well with no movement. Because it is at the bottom of the controller, the cables flow in a natural line to his headset which stops any pressure on the connectors.
I now have 4 controllers which are usable again so would definitely recommend for anyone with or wanting to stop the issue with the 3.5mm headphone jack.
I cannot recommend this. The sound is accompanied by a constant static hissing noise that I don't get when I plug directly into the controller headphone jack (Xbox Series S). I wanted this so that I could control the volume directly on the pad and not wear out the jack socket on the controller, but the sound quality is poor. I'll probably just bin this. Waste of money.
Just plug into X-Box controller and off you, the sound of people talking and sound of the game is all in the headset, all the sound can be controlled to allow voices or game sound to be louder or quieter than the other.
This little contraption did the trick. The xbox 1 controller headphone inputs jacks are notoriously poor quality and stopped working within a few weeks of my son getting his Xbox. This thing remedied that problem and has improved his gaming experience dramatically. He loves it.
I was looking for something simple that would add mic monitoring (at least better than the integrated xbox setting) . My headphones have such good noise cancelling that i can't hear myself talk very clearly so i would find that i'd be shouting at my team mates. This was exactly what i was looking for and the mic monitoring is awesome. One small thing is that the buttons are made of a different material to the xbox controller, so it feels a little odd when you need to really mash the controls on this thing to change any setting. Edit - A month in the mute button has stopped working
This is a must have for hearing footsteps while playing COD or any 1st person shooter. I use it all the time and it's brilliant. You can also control how much of the game or chat you can/want to hear. With a treble boost for enemy footsteps.
Brilliant device and worth every penny.
For all those 1 star reviews because they got a faulty device, ignore them.
Great item, finally allows me to use my third party headset with the Xbox controller. Had many issues with them due to the useless headphone socket in the controller. Thankfully this doesn't use the headphone jack in the controller, plugs into the rectangular socket and gives crystal clear sound and great voice support. Control for sound, mute etc being on it helps too in the heat of battle. Recommended!
Worked for 3 weeks and then kaput. It felt decent if a little flimsy, and buttons felt cheap. Worked well, the sound was clear and loud and was very customisable...until it wasn’t any more. One day it simply refused to Unmute, when unplugged and reattached no more game sound and heavy crackling through chat. Obviously tried everything from resetting controller to power cycling Xbox. No dice.
Thankfully I have V2 controllers now that don’t need a chat pad, even if it’s far less convenient.
A crying shame really because I Swear by Turtle beach and have and continue to recommend their products. Just not this one.
