This is the most affordable rudder set on the market, but it does not sacrifice a lot of quality. The pedals are a bit closer together, but this doesn't cause me a lot of discomfort, even being a very tall guy. By lubricating the metal slides with silicone ceramic brake lubricant, I greatly improved the smoothness. I also opened up the little hatch on the bottom, removed the stock spring (and kept it) and then replaced it with rubber elastics to make the resistance lighter. For flying helicopters which require constant rudder input that is very precise, this works well enough, and is dramatically cheaper than the alternatives. You could build a full HOTAS and rudder set with Thrustmaster products, for about the same as one individual peripheral would cost you elsewhere.
Overall happy with them for the price. Very low noise and jitter on the axis. Using the brakes while using the rudder locks them up a little making it harder to push the rudder but seems to be freeing up with use. I find the centering not the best I'm often wondering if I'm in center or not but a quick rock side to side you can feel the center detent. I like that you can use them with your foot on the floor as well like you generally would with a toe brake plane.
As others have pointed out, there's simply too much friction when moving these pedals back and forth. As a result, the motion of the pedals is very "jerky." There's no way to move these pedals smoothly unfortunately. I got them on sale for a good price, and can't complain. However, one day, they will be replaced with MFG Crosswind rudder pedals.
The pedals are good and all, but they are close together and the "rails" they move on need frequent lube or else they will be very hard to move. I would suggest if you want to get into flight simulation go for Logitech Saitek products.
These pedals are a good design and reasonable quality. During use I found no issues of importance and I am overall happy. These replaced an old set of Saitek pedals that had provided a good two years service and still OK. The Thrustmaster is a step or two up from these, and tuning them is easier and more effective than the older Saitek pedals. Overall I am a happy thrustmaster user.
Pros: -Price point and quality cannot be beaten -Smooth and accurate sensors -Use with T16000 or any other HOTAS
Cons: -Pedals are a bit close together -When using full toe brakes pedals become hard to slide(This may be a feature, you should rarely need to use rudder and brakes at the same time unless you choose to fly helicopters for some reason)
