The controls were a bit weird. 6 year old was upset that you can only start with 2 games and the rest take a while to unlock. Maybe it gets better but he lost interest too quickly to find out and mom and dad followed shortly after. I think it may be enjoyable for someone who is looking for traditional wii style game play as a novelty.
You start out with a handful of games and have to continuously play them to earn tickets to unlock the other games. The games you start out with aren't much fun either and only earn you 5-20 tickets each round. Most of the games charged at least a hundred to unlock.
Randomly there was a deal that all games could be unlocked for only 25 tickets so I ended up unlocking them pretty quickly but they all get boring pretty fast. Maybe it would help if the graphics were halfway decent?
Brings back that nostalgic vibe of just barely good Wii games lol I personally think 15$ Is the perfect price for this physical release! Some games on here are also genuinely fun and addicting as well! People seem to be upset by having to unlock games and features but I thought it was fun! But that leads me to a bittersweet point to this review, you needn’t worry about unlocking motion controls because most of the time they are pretty slow and unresponsive(atleast that was my experience! Some may have had better luck) so playing with buttons is more ideal anyway. Another downside is that most of the games come down to throwing and hitting an object with the same game mechanics of a Mario golf game with charging up a meter to power up your swing. It works most of the time but it’s so frequent that you may tire of the game quickly. Overall I feel that if you can get this game for a good price then it’s worth it! It’s a game that feels cheap in a charming way if that makes sense lol
I will say this game is worth that low price, but if you think itll be worth more than what you paid in value or fun, I hate to disappoint you. We played this game once... for twenty minutes. We havent touched it since. It's just really lackluster. I was expecting wii carnival games quality and what this game actually is, is the quality of a free phone game.
This is fun for my 4 and 6 year olds, but the games are VERY repititive. Many are very difficult, even for a season gamer like me. They are mostly just spastic whipping of the controller, and most of the games are the same thing with different skins.
Carnival Games is an ok game. Don't expect it to be a Mario Party, however. Basically most of the games use the joy stick and the A button unless you use motion. We got it mainly because it was a 4 player game. It's fun but it's not fantastic.
If you like unlocking things in games and the ability to play with friends in the same room you'll like this game. There are a lot of fun games on here but also some bad ones and things arent explained how to play that well either.
It has all the classic games found at the carnival or fair only issue I have is only certain ones are available until you master the ones available. Games are somewhat easy to do, just need master the controller buttons needed.
