The game is harder than what I thought it would be, on the easy mode the questions are still kind of tough for me let alone my kids! But other than that, its just like the game show. The seller I got it from also shipped every quickly!
Great Game. My 11 year old niece and I play. There are 3 choices - You can select one of 3 answers, type your answers on a keyboard or write your answers out. The Alex Trebek character is a hoot to watch!
Originally rated this a 4, but had to edit to a 3 due to repetitive categories, AND eventually the profile breaks and I have to create a new one in order to play the game again.
The classic game show has made its way to the DS platform. I rated the game 5 stars for fun, because I personally LOVE quiz show style games, and have spent hours and hours playing this one. It never gets boring, and the difficulty settings are realistic. The easy setting gives you multiple choice answers for the questions, the medium setting does not. It follows the game show: you have to input your answers. They give you plenty of time to respond too, which I thought was a great improvement over the SNES version. The hard setting is a challenge, as the questions are more difficult, and I believe you have a little less time to answer in, but it's still very reasonable. One more convenient feature is that you can choose to answer with a keyboard that you tap with the stylus, or you can choose to hand write with the stylus to answer the question. I had NO trouble with the DS picking up my handwriting either. You can also use your winnings to buy new outfits for your character or for the host. It's not a necessary feature per se, but it's kind of fun to try thing on (yes, I'm a girl lol).
As for age-group, I would say young adult to adult because none of the categories or questions are really related to or directed at a younger kids age group.
I bought this game because the computer game I had (from 1998) broke, and I wanted one where you could type in your answers instead of multiple choice. I was thrilled when I got it in the mail because I love 'Jeopardy!' and this game was amazing when I started playing it. The colors are really cool looking and you can even create your own avatar (they sort of look like the Miis on the Wii). On the Easy level, it is multiple choice, however Intermediate, Hard, and Expert, are fill in the blank. There are tens of thousands of questions to answer from hundreds of categories. I highly recommend this game to anyone, whether they like the show or just want something to play that is on the intellectual side.
