After gaining a BSc at King's College London and MSc at City University, Giselle worked for British Telecom and Unilever, London. Giselle is now a full-time mum to six boys, including twins, and a part-time astrologer. In 1999 she qualified as an Astrologer with the Faculty of Astrological Studies and now specialises in medieval astrology. Pandora's Box is her debut novel

Hollie Hudson is happily married to husband Richard but craves one thing desperately: a baby. It's all she's ever dreamed about since she was a little girl and the fact she's incapable of having a baby is driving her to distraction. After happening upon a leaflet for a surrogate Hollie comes up with the answer to all of her problems: she'll ask her sister Scarlett to be her surrogate. Scarlett, however, is nothing like homebody Hollie and has spent a couple of years in the Amazon rainforest desperate to come up with a solution to stop the rainforest being destroyed. Once PlanetLove, the organisation Scarlett works for, is taken over by a new group, Scarlett finds herself back in England to renew her visa and to try and raise money before heading back to Brazil. After Hollie asks Scarlett to be her surrogate, Scarlett realises she could raise the money she needs sooner than she thinks... Just how far will the two sisters go to realise their dreams?

A Sister's Gift has a very Jodi Picoult-esque plot and the book is quite controversial. Like Little Miracles, A Sister's Gift alternates first person perspective between both Hollie and Scarlett and, like the second book, it works. It gives us insight to what both Scarlett and Hollie are feeling at any given time and it's so good to see the conflicting thoughts of both sisters.

All in all, I enjoyed reading A Sister's Gift. It's definitely a gripping book and although it is slightly similar to Jodi Picoult - the controversy and plot - it is also different - no court cases, for starters. I absolutely do recommend the book but I do attach a note of caution.above

This is the first book I have read by Giselle Green and I really enjoyed it. When I bought it I didn't know much about the story line and I definitely feel this is the best way to read this book. I really enjoyed this book, often not wanting to put the book down even though I knew I had to because my eyes were closing. Many times the story line shocked me, at times I kept reading because I just couldn't believe it....

A really interesting read and I just kept wanting to read more, to find out what would happen next. It was written well and you had feelings for the characters. These are the kind of books I like, that let you in as if you are part of the story. I was a bit disappointed at the end, I felt I wanted more....to know how it would end. I guess this is what the author wanted, to leave it open so you never really knew. I would of liked to know how it ended....I can live with not knowing though.

Excellent book and I am definitely going to try another of her books. I really loved this book despite some of the shocking story lines so her other books have a lot to live up to because I really did love this book. I don't remember ever reading a book with this story line before so it was different, that is good and its always nice to read something different.

I would happily recommend this book to others, I really enjoyed it and hopefully you will too.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It tackles difficult and heart wrenching subject matters but Giselle does it in a very tasteful and heart felt way.

The story is told from two perspectives - Hollie, who is losing hope of ever being able to carry a child herself, and Scarlett, her sister who could do it for her. The reader is able to sympathise with both women even though they both come across in a bad light at some point in the story. We, as readers, are able to understand why these women feel the way they do and we can forgive.

I read this book in lots of small parts as I was too busy to sit down for a few evenings on the trot and read it solid. So I think this has hindered my emotion for the book. I could see that if I was given the time to read solid and get really into it I could have quite easily cried my eyes out. However, I was not able to do this. Saying this, I still felt the emotion and I was covered in goosebumps throughout the final chapters so I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Definitely worth a read.

I found this book extremely difficult to "get into", I know the author has to give a background into the characters and start to paint the picture, but this book just doesn't flow along. It's slow paced, tedious and very dull. I am slightly biased though as to the ending as I confess I only made it to 19% before giving up on it completley. I really tried to persevere with this book I hate to start and not finish but I have a personal rule which is to give a book at least 3 chapters and if I am not totally engrossed I would rather spend my time reading a book I do enjoy. So I really don't know what happens at the end but I don't care enough to find out, though I have read other reviews which mostly say its disappointing. This book was a recommendation to me I have not come accross the author before and I won't be choosing anything by them in the future.

This book is really well written by Giselle Green and the way it is written is so entriguing and it makes you want to read on to discover all the mysteries she faces you with. Why is Hollie so afraid of water, what is the message in the red balloon, who is Duncan and why is he so set on getting hold of Scarlett? From the start you feel sorry for Hollie who has tried numerous times to fall pregnant but each time it fails. She is quickly given up all hope of the perfect family she dreams of. That is until her wayward sister Scarlett returns from the amazon. She soon agrees to be Hollie's surrogate amd tries to fall pregnat but it fails. She does eventually pregnant unbeknown to her siter Hollie so Hollie suggests the ntural approach to concieving to Scarlett's delight at getting to sleep with the gorgeous Rich whom she has harboured a crush on for such a long time. The truth comes out and all their worlds come crashimg down. It is here all the mysteries are revealed and you become gripped to the book. You are desperate to find out if Hollie forgives Scarlett and if she still gets the baby she so desperately wants. The book doesn't finish how I expected it to finish, I expected Scarlett to decide she couldn't give up the baby she'd carried for nine months. Therefore causing a big family fued to break out and hatred and secrets within the family. However if doesn't end like this, it ends in a way that you wouldn't expect and so the book finishes on a cliffhanger, in one sense this is a good way to end because the reader can decide what happens but I personally would have preferred for us to be told how it ends. I hope there is a sequel to this book so know what really happens. Overall this is a brill book and I would definately reccommend that you read it.
