I’m happy to see another release in the Stoics series. This volume, On The Shortness Of Life: De Brevitate Vitae (A New Translation with Image Gallery and Seneca Biography) (Stoics In Their Own Words Book 4), is another powerful work. Seneca’s writing is full of wisdom and vision. I read these ancient words and am inspired. It is absolutely incredible that these essays were not lost to time and they are now able to be easily discovered by so many new readers. A gift of great knowledge. Everyone should read this stuff. Five stars.
I had a book printed by Amazon before. Last time the page nos. were missing. This time the Footnotes/Endnotes are missing. Shame. I can manage without page nos., but I would like to have been able to read the notes to this nice little booklet.
Straight to the point with no excess B.S. Books of this nature nowadays are filled with pseudo-science and jargon, I assume it's due to pressure from publishers to add more pages to the book so people feel like they are getting there monies worth.
This book is an ancient Japanese samurai sword whilst the new age B.S nowadays are blunt rusty machetes with a broken handle.
You must apply the wisdom in this book in your life, once you do that consistently, you will see you life increase at an exponential rate similar to how compound interest adds up.
On The Shortness of Life is the perfect book to wake up your consciousness about the most important aspect of your life, it makes the reader think about how himself lives, how much time he wastes on pointless stuff. It was one of the first books i read on my journey as a reader and it is still one of the greatest books i read. The book is tinny so you have no excuse to not read it...
