The game is OK. But really not too realistic. If any one has actually done any hunting this game will disappoint you as a 'simulator'. The tracking and stalking is OK but it ends there. You go after upland birds [pheasant] with a shot gun [obviously] but it doesn't seem to be loaded with bird shot. You have to hit the bird as if your shooting it with a .22! And the mode of hunting is the same for all hunts. So you need to squat and crawl on your belly even when hunting rabbit and upland birds. Stalking is pretty easy, but then once you spot your prey you pick up your .22 or .243 [in real life about as light as a baseball bat] and suddenly the gun is like 90 pounds and you can't hold it still for the dead on heart-lung shot you need to make. If you don't, the animal runs off like you hit it with a rubber bb. If your truly looking for a 'hunter simulator' I'd stay away from this one.
This was a Christmas Present for my nephew. I had the fun of playing "with" him (watching him and coaching) for several hours over several days. He was definitely into the game, and excited about it. He is NOT a hunter nor from a hunting family, but does like wild animals. He quickly went from shooting at everything from any distance to identifying specific targets, passing on game that wasn't appropriate, and real stalking to get closer for a good shot.
This game doesn't provide a perfect simulation of the hunting experience. There is always a lot of huggable animals around, and seldom does more then a minute or two go by before you can put another stalk on something. But, it does have a lot of fun features and teaches some things about hunting. Ideally should be combined with a parent or hunting mentor who can explain where and how the game disconnects from real hunting. Eg, licenses and tags, etc.
My husband is an avid Call of Duty player and a pretty good shot, I, however, am NOT a good first person shooter. This game really helps to learn how to focus in on your shots because it’s a continuing moving target at a long distance. The game is a slow one and sometimes boring, but the graphics are awesome and it runs really well. Once you get some of your first handful of kills, the game gets better since you earn some helpful items and better guns.
It sucked because the cover looked awesome but when you download it it is a huge let down with the woprse quality and so boring since if you make one move the animal runs or just the missions ar boring with it just saying "yeah kill 2 deer and 3 foxes. Bad game.
