Worst Madden by far. Game is unrealistic. Reads made by defenses are unlike any players at any level. Every other throw is inaccurate and right to the defense. Developers obviously have never played a down of football in their life. EA needs to figure it out
The last Madden I had was Madden 17 so for me personally, to make the jump from 17 to 20, I thought, was a pretty big one. I’ve never been a huge fan of MUT so I can’t review that. In terms of gameplay, it certainly is a lot smoother then 17. Yeah the tackling is still a little off and defenders occasionally make the impossible jump to defend a pass. However, outside of those issues, I think this is a slight step up. Face of the Franchise is fun but I’m not too sure if you can get drafted by any other teams except for Miami and NY. I did pretty well at the Combine and lit up the College Playoffs and so I thought I’d go in the early first round but I was wrong. The commentary is definitely an improvement over the previous Maddens and hopefully they add new commentary content throughout the season. Overall, if it’s been a few years since you got the last Madden, then I think this one would be a good one to get
Played this game nonstop for about a week, creating my Franchise QB, going through the college football playoffs, getting drafted 1st overall, then taking the Dolphins to the Superbowl while throwing for 5000+ yards and 40+ TDs. But then it sinks in that once you've accomplished all of that in your first season, the replay value really drops. I thought at least the Franchise mode would renew my interest in the game, but honestly it became tedious after week 1. Maybe I was expecting too much from the game, but honestly with only 3 real modes to play, it just seems like past Maddens had more to offer.
It's been a while since I picked up Madden and needed to scratch that NFL itch. Quickly was reminded why I stopped buying the game. Besides what seems to be a well documented kicking meter glitch (I saw reports going back to July) that is not yet fixed I now have the game just crashing on my PS4. Their monopoly on a NFL products means they don't care about the product quality they produce.
This is the first time I've bought a current-gen Madden game, and for the most part, I'm impressed. Receivers move and behave better than in any football game I've played, and the passing game in general is more refined than it was a decade ago. The running game is a little regressed from what I remember, primarily because it feels like I have less control of my back when he's got the ball.
Defense is tough, to say the least. It's the most frustrating aspect of the game. I care not a single bit for Madden Ultimate Team, so disregard my thoughts on that. Franchise is fine.
Haven’t played since 2011. On the x box 360. Specifically bought a PS 4 just to play this game online with an old friend in franchise mode. The game is complete garbage. Mechanics are terrible, all you do is throw picks, the computer completes every pass over the middle and scatbacks run like Jim Brown. By far the worst madden version I’ve ever played. Even going back to 1992.
Not much changes annually with these games. Unless your a heavy online player or make money playing you shouldnt buy it every year. Take the time to build your team to the max before you purchase the next version. Graphically this game has been the same since ps4 came out. Engine is a little faster, graphically its smoother but not better. Worth the purchase if you have not purchased madden in the last couple of yrs.
Didn't come as advertised. I knew it was used but the game was listed as works with no scratches. The case it came in was one of those cheap buy 10 cases for a dollor type and it was even broken. I could have accepted all that considering the price but it wouldn't even play. I tried 4 times to get it to play. Just to be sure it wasn't my system I inserted another game and it started up perfectly. I returned it and wanted a replacement and was told that if a replacement wasn't sent in 30 days the order would be canceled... The order was canceled so I never got to play the game.
