The above review is incorrect about, "A free downloadable movie! It just can`t get better!"
The voucher code included with the game is not redeemable outside of the US. You have to download the movie from the Playstation network, but as this is a region 1 disk, the code only works for customers in region 1, not the UK or EU.
I was very disappointed after paying a premium for this game to learn that I would have to pay another £8.99 to download the movie, or £12.98 to buy it from amazon.
It would have been cheaper to buy a used copy of the original game and then have downloaded the additional DLC, such as Harley's Revenge in a bundle pack from the playstation network.
First thing to say is that this is definitely a really good game and alot of fun. As many other reviews describe, this game is very effective at immersing the player into the role of Batman. Alot of good things about this game, but there is definitely an over-hyped side of things.
-What's with the Catwoman material? It's so scant that including it just teases more than it contributes to the game play. To underscore that point, I got through easily by ignoring every opportunity to upgrade a Catwoman ability, and opted to use those chances strictly for Batman upgrades.
-Combat controls sometimes leave something to be desired. Combo controls, and stringing consecutive hits for combos should be better.
-On a related note, what's with the knives? Knives are almost impossible to defend against in this game. The "blade dodge" move (triangle, with two "back" taps on the left stick) is nearly impossible to execute. The game simply does not respond and usually only executes two quick back steps. Which goes to show that the two taps are received by the game, so why not execute the dodge? It seems that these two taps have to be done lightning fast, otherwise the dodge won't be executed. The developers seem to have intentionally planned this, as the primary difference between the "normal" and "hard" settings is that on "hard" almost everyone is packing a knife. It becomes absurd. Seriously, this is Batman. You really mean to tell me that the batsuit is as thin as paper?
-Too many of the Riddles are way too vague, or offer next to no direction on how to solve them. Constantly zipping around looking for Riddler informants to get clues can be come a tedious way to waste several hours.
-Finally, while this game is longer than its predecessor, it's storyline is nowhere near long enough to be truly considered an Epic. I finished the game fairly fast, and that was even having a few too many instances of spending an hour or more wandering around aimlessly trying to figure out something that didn't make sense.
Once again, this is a really fun game and you'll enjoy it alot. But it's far from perfect.
This main story mode of this game was extremely short. I am not an ardent gamer, yet I was able to beat this game in 2 days. I do admit that I did not get all the trophies or side missions, but I feel that should be integrated into the game.
Once you beat the main character, I have little incentive to mess with the game any longer.
