Expensive but they do work well. I haven't tried all the features, I got them for bike training as I'm a motorcycle instructor. Range is reasonable with the aerial up. The units pair up so much more reliably than the Bluetooth units I used to use. Speakers are good but a little thick and required a little triming of my Nolan N100-5 to get them to fit. Cardo web support/tutorials very good. Voice commands don't always work first time but this could be me. It wouldn't stop me buying them again. Basically I'm very pleased.
Having read other reviews I bought 2 dual packs for Myself and friends. I was concerned that these wouldn’t live up to the hype, but they really are that good. The most difficult part of the set up is installation in the helmet.
I have previously owned Interphone sport head sets for rider to pillion use, and can honestly say the Cardo sound quality is a big improvement. Voice commands can be slightly hit and miss. The group chat with packtalk is seamless, no more Bluetooth woes.
Myself and my friends have found that chatting while riding has given a new dimension to biking. Making riding safer by chatting to point out hazards and being able to joke and take the stress out of boring dual carriageway riding. Though these are not cheap if you want a motorbike headset the Pack Talk Bold performs superbly.
The is a quality piece of kit, sound is good some great features like radio playing and music, auto reconnect via Bluetooth or dmc is a great addition, the only thing that lets it down with me is the voice control, it seems if your American it’ll understand you, if your Scottish like me you’ve no chance, even talking polite 🤷♂️ Some voice commands work some times and sometimes they don’t. I would still recommend this comms kit as voice control isn’t essential.
The CARDO PackTalk BOLD did not live up to the hype of it being way better than the SENA system. We miss the Push-to-Talk feature of the SENA. Always hearing the other person say "HEY CARDO-Next Track" or "HEY CARDO-Volume-Up", or listening to heavy breathing or ambient noise all the time, gets old really fast. SENA's Push-to-Talk is really nice... and the CARDO will never do that. CARDO also doesn't have a remote control option, like the SENA has. We had SENA handlebar remotes, which made it 100% positive every time what we wanted it to do.
Also, while wearing ear-plugs, the volume on the CARDO does not go up loud enough, compared to the SENA system. I struggled to hear my wife using the CARDO, whereas the SENA was always crystal clear in all the modes.
I got sucked in by all the YouTube videos... and now I am returning it. We thought the MESH technology was the way to go... and the distance apart from each other didn't work like it should have been.
Brilliant piece of kit. I already owned the Q3 but the Packtalk is far superior. The ability to talk with a group while out riding makes all the difference. Voice command function is great and works really well. I especially like the ability to call Siri on my iPhone to call anyone in my phones directory using voice command .
