Decades before our earliest preserved Gospels were first penned, the things Jesus said and did were passed down by word of mouth among his followers.

However, by carefully comparing Matthew, Mark, and Luke, biblical scholars have discerned a written source even earlier than these texts: The Gospel commonly known as “Q,” from the German word for “source.”

Written in Greek sometime between 50 and 70 CE, this collection of Jesus’ teachings was used by the authors of Matthew and Luke. Following the meticulous reconstruction of Q by an international team of experts, this new translation highlights the wisdom of Jesus’ prophetic message — the Gospel behind the Gospels.

I found this a fascinating too. To compare Q with the Gospels in the Bible. Watching the progression of the Gospel story almost as if happening now. Very interesting to see how Mark, Matthew and Luke adjusted the Q material to fit their context.
Impressed.

Some of the meanings in this need explicating,
like

~settle with your adversary,
or they may hand you to the judge, ( Law )
them hand you to the officer ( enforcement/enactment ),
& you will pay every penny!~

Translate that to the
What Souls Sew, Souls Have No Choice But To Reap(tm)
Law:

Settle what we can, while IN our lives,
because once death smashes one's LifeMind,
( current Soul-"day", Cells-of-Allgod, or Allgod's Children, have many such "days" )
one's soul has no choice but to work-through ALL its karma, without any exception!

Please read Thomas Ragland's book
"Jesus Turns The Dharma Wheel"
or
"The Eightfold Path of Christ", whichever it is called,
& see that the bible itself is evidence aplenty that Yehoshua ben Joseph was a studied buddhist...

Know that the Gospel of Mary, of Magdala,
or Mary, the Magdalene,
( some didn't know why the 2 "different" terms : )
is a Jewish, sorta kabbalist's take on Vajrayana,
complete with the technical-term "Space Conqueror" in it.

Those "lost years" of his are shown clear as day in the evidence available,
once one knows the keys!

Anyways, this is wonderful.

Students of the New Testament know that of the three Synoptic Gospels, Mark was written first and Matthew and Luke used it as the framework for their gospels. However, Matthew and Luke have over 200 parallel verses that do not appear in Mark. Through careful study, scholars have long theorized there was an even earlier gospel then these four, called The Gospel of Q. Q comes from the German word for “source.”

Q, believed to have been written between 50 and 70 AD, has been reconstructed by scholars and two translations: one literal, the other colloquial are presented in this book. Mr. Mattison explores the history of its origin and development and relates it to Jesus both as a document of his wisdom and a record of history.

Mr. Mattison has much Biblical scholarship under his belt, having translated the gospels of Mary, Thomas and Judas. He was also part of a team that translated a Divine Feminine Version of the New Testament from the original Greek.
