Anyone who has ever worked on a Canam quad or UTV...do yourself a favor and buy this! For years I cursed those stupid plastic push pin things...having to take 3,000,000 of them out to do anything to these machines. I finally broke down and bought the right tools for them...why did I wait so long!?! I can now spend only 4 hours removing and installing all those pesky devil devices, instead of 48 hours.
I have weak arthritic and hypermobile hands that hurt with any kind of pressure. I stabbed myself with a flathead while waiting for this to get here. I just simply do not have the coordination for 2 mediocre tools.
I love I can squeeze the handle and it does the hard work for me. Just be careful to have something in the way of what you pry off. I had a couple of pins fly to the ground.
I just used this tool to remove some fasteners on my 2000 Dodge Durango and it actually worked pretty good. In the past, I would just pry off the faster and it was kind of a pain. This tool made the fastener pop right off with no issues. Extremely easy to use. Wish I would have purchased one sooner.
I am in converting a Van and need to remove many of the clips for wiring harness, trim, the bumper guards, etc. These work very well for that purpose. You need to be careful on the finished paint, as they can scratch. May do well to have some plastic ones for that. Under the vehicle and inside on the non-critical surfaces, these are working very well.
I cannot, for the life of me, remove a plastic retainer... I tear them up and have to replace them... this tool actually works... I used it several times, and they pull clean, and I can reuse the retainer... get it if those pesky retainers drive you crazy...
In the past I always used a flat tip screwdriver or needle nose pliers and they just were not effective. These tools (I only had to use one) allowed me to easily pop off the clips from my BMW F33 trunk liner to replace the rear brake halogen light bulbs with LEDs and it was no problem at all.
I'm very happy with this purchase. I have a set of plastic, clip removers & they just don't work on the smaller, tighter fasteners. These work fantastic on my C6 Corvette where just about everything is held together with push pin style fasteners.
These are in line with the asking price and did what I needed them to do. If you need something for every day use as a professional you might want something from snap-on, Cornwell, etc... However, these are fine for most people.
I had to pop off some fasteners on my new truck so I could install some mud flaps. Worked perfect, easily and no damage to the vehicle or fastener. Glad I bought it rather then using a screw driver as I had in the past with mixed results. :D
