Sobre o Autor

Celia Anderson lives slap bang in the middle of the Midlands and dreams of owning a cottage by the sea, or at the very least on a canal or river. She makes do with living next door to a pond full of ducks but often manages to sneak more impressive watery places into her writing. Celia loves walking, reading, having large bubbly baths, eating and drinking wine. Over the years, she has found that all of these activities bar the first may be done simultaneously, although this can be messy. Previously a teacher and assistant head, she now writes full time and keeps her feet on the ground by running children's clubs that mainly involve drama and cake.
An enthusiastic member of the Romantic Novelists' Association, Celia currently organises the judging for the Romantic Novel of the Year Awards. She spends far too much time on social media and dreams of one day being strong-minded enough to leave the house without her phone.

What a beautiful story! Such an unusual concept and characters you wish lived on your street. I loved May, aged one-hundred-and-ten, but sprightly as a spring lamb. The reason she's so young at heart will knock your socks off and I wish...no, I won't say more because I don't want to spoil the story. The younger characters are equally as likable, well apart from Candice. But the less we say about her the better. And all this set against a gorgeous Cornish backdrop. I could almost believe I was on the beach or sitting on May's swing seat looking out over the bay, thanks to the masterly pen of Celia Anderson. Wonderful writing! I sincerely hope there will be a sequel, as I can't wait to return to Pengelly and see what Emily, Andy, Julia, Tris and everyone else has been up to. Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved this book. The storylines of the multiple well-drawn characters are so involving. The relationships are sometimes funny, sometimes sad and always believable. The book as whole is wonderfully touching and uplifting and the various mysteries and secrets from the past that are gradually unravelled add to a very satisfying mix. I also enjoyed the extras at the end of the book (I have the Kindle version) which include a recipe and an author Q&A. I was delighted to see that Celia Anderson would like to write a sequel; as I finished the novel I really felt I’d got to know the characters and didn’t want to lose them.

‘Just a few pages’, I told myself… and then I was lost! Why? Well, to begin with there’s a wonderfully original premise and May’s a terrific protagonist so I had to keep reading to see what she would get up to next! Then, Celia cleverly drew me in with her cast of believable characters each with their own intriguing story. This really is a heartwarming novel without being in the slightest bit saccharine. It’s a book with light and shade, sunshine and rain, and it left me with a lovely warm glow. Delightful.

Fascinating and beguiling, 59 Memory Lane was a wonderfully different read for me. A cast of highly believable characters, all with their own nuances and dilemmas set in a sunny Cornwall village with a nice smattering of romantic intrigue.
And then there's May, feisty, remarkable and determined, with a most unusual and mysterious gift inherited from her lovely dad.
This delightful and enchanting book is a cracking, feelgood read just when we need one!
